Security officers @ The Holts Camping area were a complete nightmare

• Walking through all the tents every day/night, spying and eyeing everyone up and there belongings

• Rude, loud and very over powering

• Taking items that didn’t belong to them

• Early Monday morning shaking peoples tents and shouting everyone get up and get off site now (as they wanted to go home)

• Left tents and other stuff were ripped down or smashed up with sticks etc

I have been to Glastonbury Festival since 2002 and I have NEVER seen Security Officers behave in this way.

They made me and allot of other people feel uncomfortable, annoyed and so MAD....

Report it to the festival... hopefully they'll have some record of who was working that patch at the times you say? Sounds like they shouldn't be on the books anymore if they were acting like that... let them do their bit and free up some jobs for decent security workers!!

They didn't bother me until the the Monday morning telling people to get up thing. It was 9:15 when they shook our tent, I was up already but my boyfriend was asleep and it peed him off greatly. Of course we knew it was nonsense and ignored them.

The camping area was between the Jazz stage and the Glade :-)

That's pretty disgraceful, I'd certainly let somebody know. Unacceptable behaviour.

As above - do report this. It's not in the festival's interests to have people potentially driving when are not properly rested.

There were some serious knobs in the security uniforms this year. Spoke to everyone like they were mini hitlers.

At Gate C, as we were coming through one time a load of them were getting a bollocking off a supervisor, and being told to speak to people politely rather than shouting at them !

The worst thing i saw was a group of security idiots in a 4x4 driving along the old railway line. The driver deliberately targeted a full can in his path to drive over, and the thing exploded causing the occupants of the 4x4 to burst into fits of laughter. Ok harmess fun maybe ?  But maybe not, the ripped apart can narrowly missed a bloke walking along the path but if it had hit him it would have done some serious damage. The midless security idiots didnt see the harm in what they did, and just laughed.,

The security companies neeed to get hold of these idiots and rain them in..... From some of the behaviour i saw i dont believe many of these guys were qualified license holders.

That said the all the security staff i saw around the stage areas seemd to do a very good job, so well done to them !

We didn't have a problem with them (we were in Holts too), but then I would have done if they'd been shaking my tent at 9am!  Fortunately, I have a husband who likes to get up and get the tent packed away at the crack of dawn, we were at the car by 7:30am!!!

They did all sit in a big group at the top of the field for most of Wednesday though, doing eff all.

We had similar problems on the Monday in Holts, the camping crew in yellow even came round and apologised to us for their behaviour!

I get a feeling that it wasn't just at Holts, but across the festivals. I didn't experience anything really out of order but I heard some stories. The only thing I found was one power hungry young women. She tried to get her male colleague to smell my cousins breath as she felt he "has been on the spliff!", he hadn't been. Her male friend told her to spoke being extra and calm down a little.

Do security have numbers on their jackets or anything to identify them?

If not, should they have in future?

Yes, they all do. Also, the ones doing 'proper' security must display their SIA ID when working.

Good on the campsite crew.

The majority of people who work at the festival care alot about it and don't like it when someone is letting the side down.

they should show their SIA id, however a lot don't and if you ask to see it, they would probably say they dont have to

shame really,

as to the can, yea that is mindless but that's how people are, not just these security people-but when you're working at an event full of people you should be thinking about everything you do, you're PAID to make things safe, not make them worse or endanger the people at the event
