Oh dear! Are you sure it was there and how did you know it happened (e.g. did you realise at the time or only realised later)? Sorry to hear it has happened. I would report it to the festival as well as the bank if I was you.

Well i had £400 in the bank, i took out £150 on the friday, went to look at my balance this morning and it said i had £3.20 left.

So i phoned the bank and they said a transaction on £250 went out on the Sunday in Bristol.

makes sense, skmming cards at a festival would be easier than normal

i.e. norma cashpoints outside a bank/building with plenty of cameras,

sucks though mate

Bloody hell, I never thought of checking until I read this. Luckily I got away with it. Sorry about your misfortune - is there no fraud protection from your bank for this kind of thing?

You've scared me now. I spent roughly £100 at Glasto, drew out £10, and have about three weeks until next payday. Rationing myself on fags, booze and junk food because of me being skint is horrible.:)

didnt know they were monitorred, but it's easy to slip these skimming devices on from what ive heard on the news/crimewatch, so it's possible one of these fraudsters could go to the machine slip it over the existing card hole when he pretends to put his card in without anyone noticing

it would depend how close they were and how much attention they were paying, were they all larking around etc, im sure there would be a chance when the crew were having a laugh and it wasn't being watched properly,

but it's bad, i used the Natwest one in 07, didn't take any cash out this time, although the natwest one is miles

is that natwest one there all year round?!

but yea, be careful..try not to use these stand alone mobile cashpoints, dont pay by card in petrol stations (BP/SHELL have had loads of cards used at these places cloned - gangs operating in them)

Next time take cash but carry it carefully spread around your belongings.  I wear a gilet with 13 zip pockets.  Picketpockets might get one but they won't get the lot.

I worked for the company that provide the ATM machines at Glasto till Jan this year, and believe me they are not easy to "skim" as you put it.

Did you make a claim through your bank to the company?

I have always used the Nat West ones near the farm.

They are free and always have security and Nat West staff keepiing an eye on things.

They are 24 hour and if you go early morning there are no q's.

Always found staff very polite and helpful and never had any trouble.

At previous glastos, me too, but if you're pitched in the park they're a real hike aren't they?!

I'd take the hike over losing £250 any day!  :D

Having to go all the way to the top of the farm to get cash because of all the xenophobic cash machines was bullshit.
