I was fortunate enough to be at the front when Mr Eavis took part in a scheduled Q&A session at the Speakers Forum in the Green Futures Field on Sunday at 2.30pm. Here is a quick summary and I apologise in advance if it has been covered elsewhere.
Favourite peformance:
John Fogarty. (Although I suspect he gives a different answer everytime someone asks this question)
Flags:
Claimed he was not aware they obscured people's view especially the close-ups on the big screen and said he would look into. Nobody suggested they should be banned altogether but kept away from front of stages instead.
Chairs:
Claimed he was not aware they restricted access and said he would look into it.
Problems with public transport on Wednesday:
Organisers were taken by surprise at the unprecendented number of early arrivals. He asked audience if the site should open on Tuesday to which there was a large roar of approval and he said he would look into it.
2012:
Confirmed there would be no festival that year due to resources such as loos, police, telecommunications, etc. being diverted elsewhere. He also said that he and his wife were planning a round Britain trip that year!
Moving the date of the Festival:
Festival will always be at the mercy of the elements and he would never consider moving the date of the Festival.
Retirement:
The Guardian got it wrong. He has no intention of retiring.
Oppressive Police Presence:
He was not aware of it but audience seemed to think there was.
Crosby, Stills & Nash:
Said he intervened at the last minute when he realised they were not going to play 'Teach Your Children'. (They did).
There was more of course but I can't remember it all.

Some nice points there, nice to see if he doesn't plan to retire anytime soon.

There's a much larger thread on this further down (probably on page 2 by now)
I was there as well (in fact I was the one who asked about the fallow year)
