This was my first Glastonbury and I have to say it was one of the best weekends of my life.
I have seen some of the negative threads on this forum today and I am amazed that people can say these things - they truly do not know how lucky they are to attend such a brillant festival.
There really is no comparison to T or V - Glastonbury is miles ahead on all counts
For me the highlights were:
1. The people. How anyone can say that people are rude at Glastonbury is totally beyond me. Everybody I met was 10 times friendlier than at other festivals, whether I was chilling, raving or just bimbling about. At other festivals you have to wear a coat just to keep shelter from the flying beer and worse. There is virtually none of this at Glasto.
2. Physical beauty of the setting. From meditation at the the candlelit stone circle to having it large at the beautiful Glade Stage for Stereo MC's to the stunning Trash City I think that the whole place is just beautiful. You could say that these things are unnecessary for a music festival but IMO they make a huge difference
3. Choice of music. Whilst the headliners were not ones that I would choose, I have loved so many more bands at Glastonbury that I didn't expect, particularly including Dreadzone and Dizzy Rascal who I would not normally see - both were knockout. Despite the lineup this was the best musical event that I have ever been to. Rather than hanging about at stages waiting for the next band, there is always something else to see. You would never get the opportunity to chill watching brilliant jazz on a Sunday morning anywhere else
4. Freedom. At T or V the whole place is dominated by zoning, security and police. A one way system in Trash City is hardly a biggie - there is ten times more freedom to wander where and when you choose - this helps with the whole chilled vibe that makes Glasto so special
So, IMO, Glasto is just brillant and I have absolutely no time for moaners and whingers who say "It's not like the old days" or other such rubbish. Of course it's not like the old days, it will change and thrive and develop for many years to come.
Whether or not you choose to enjoy it is up to you. But if you did enjoy it like me, let's hear what you thought!

glad you enjoyed it - I have no problem with people saying aspects of the festival have changed and they do not like it but with virtually everything in life things will change and the festival will evolve. whether it's a good/bad thing or you do and don't like it you cannot stop it....

There are so many good points about G that I have not got the time to list. Had a fantastic time.
It is unique
