Wish he was above florence so there was no way florence and placebo would clash!

Oh great, means less time for faith no more.

Don't really care. It's not like it's making the line-up worse. The only way to make this line-up worse is if any of the 4-5 good bands start dropping out!

I'm not a fan of his new single but he was good last time I saw him so I'll try and catch him at Leeds, clashes depending

what would be bad is if any of the 4/5 good bands playing this year pulled out. I f**king love amazing music and this year is just full of shit. It's not really like he's detracting from the line - up anyway.
Sorry. Just had an urge to be sooo overly negative. I feel sick.

nah i was just being sarcastic.
some people just seem to be ridiculously negative just for the sake of it on these forums.

i don't understand why they have given him exactly the same slot as last year

A festival like Reading, that prides itself (supposedly) on covering the whole spectrum of rock music, should not be dealing in repeat bookings. Download boxes itself in to the hard rock/metal scene - repeat bookings are pretty unavoidable.
Why not instead of ANOTHER band that sound like the same radio friendly pop rock nonsense, they throw in someone different - why not give Stone Gods (nothing like their previous band!) a chance, what about Black Stone Cherry - both bands went down a treat at IOW last year apparently so they're not just a "Download band".
I honestly don't get how they had the nerve to say they would justify putting up the ticket price and then give us all the average to shite bands from last year that no one in their right mind wanted back and a few equally average/shite bands to replace the good ones from last year
I'll stop there... to end on a positive note, here's a kitten.

If the artist has a new album out then I have no problem at all with repeat bookings - as in Jack Penate's case. It's another thing altogether when the band have released no new material (As in Bloc Party's case).

Festival Republic just keep me longing for August bank holiday more and more with these exciting announcements. First The View, and now Jack Penate? This line-up is even better than 2007's colossal bill.

Lithium, I completely agree with and near piss myself laughing at all your posts.
Your last one was specifically significant.
Ive bought my ticket, although reluctantly after the initial lineup annoucement, believing that the the best was to follow.
Ive been to Leeds the last 2 years and most of the shi-t bands I didnt go to watch in those years, now fill up this years lineup.
Ok Faith no more, The Prodigy and Radiohead are a great pull and well done to the organisers for this.
But when seeing them, i miss Kings of Leon, Thursday/Bronx and Lost Prophets.
Not that Im a massive fan of these bands, but they are some of the very limited list of bands that I was happy to see added to the lineup this year.
Im happy to join you in complaining. Keep it up man; good Work!
