liquuid_fusion, on Jun 29 2009, 04:34 PM, said:Definately should have been on the Pyramid Stage! Rolf mentioned himself that last time he played at Glasto 75,000 people turned up (not sure if this is exaggerated slightly...) but they probably could have seen it coming.
could well have been 75k. i know he opened the fest on the pyramid stage on the friday in 1993 at 1pm i think [with 'jake the peg' etc] and it was jam packed. someone's memories of 1993 here:
http://plattitude.bl...lastonbury.html
but i seem to recall him on the pyramid stage a few years ago when it was also full. jazz world is too small for him - fact.

niceandfriendly, on Jun 29 2009, 08:32 PM, said:totally agree. rolf was just so so disappointing. there were HUGE gaps inbetween each song, without anything being said. just total silence. the crowd was very subdued (obviously) and it was way too busy to enjoy anything. left before the end, he was shocking.
were you @ the same event as i was, i ask myself? the crowd absolutely loved him. search on youtube using 'routeoz rolf harris glastonbury festival 2009' ...

choo choos, on Jul 4 2009, 11:27 PM, said:I was there too, it was a joke , some people were having picnics in the middle of the blondie gig lol. I managed to get down the front , where i saw a bloke punch another because he got in he's way ... just totaly manic . But i also heard that blondie didnt want to pay on an outside stage , due to the fact that the lighting in the tent could cover her face and age ! dont know if its true or not , but defo wasnt the place for her in that poxy tent i hate it in there .slight detour, but i went to latitude last year , and they put blondie on in a marquee, talk about not knowing your audience !
We got in but plenty of people i know could'nt get anywhere near, and as for rolf, we turned back when there where obviously problems getting into the field, later learnt they had closed the gates !

I thought he was pretty good, certainly raised a few laughs.
