theres a radiohead concert on sky anytime.f**k me,musically theyre good but now i know why some people have been saying that they are dreary and miserable.do they play at that pace all the way through their concerts normally??  jesus,as there was no one else on i was going to give them a chance at reading but after being on the beer all day on the sunday im not sure i can listen to 2 hours of them plodding through that material.i wasnt expecting foot tapping singalongs but they even make pearl jam and smashing pumpkins sound like happy clapping gospel groups.admittedly that was in 2003,do any of the radiohead fans know if they still play the same type of setlist now?? is this show a typical performance??are they likely to play any of their early rockers at reading??? i realise that i'll need to put a tin hat on from all the radiohead fans but i must stress i am only going by this one performance and i realise that this doesnt give me a balanced view of all their concerts/material.

was it the 2003 glastonbury performance? if so i don't think it'll be your cup of tea this year

I have to ask the question, what do you expect radiohead to be like?

Not everyone just want jumping up and down music.

But what do u expect from radioheas?

It was the Eurockeenes festival in 2003, around the same time Hail to the Thief was released (of which i'm not all that fond of). If they play their current touring setlist you can expect most tracks off of In Rainbows mixed with some older live favourites so expect the unexpected - last time i saw them live there was a fairly sizeable Mosh Pit to 'Just' for example...

which is why lostprophets playing at the same time makes perfect sense. Complete opposite end of the spectrum, plus their quite a draw which means the main stage wont be rammed that badly (With the amount of people they let in now it's getting ridiculous if you get caught out and end up at the back).

i know,i know.loads of people told me that they were like that so i did expect it but i thought id check it out for myself when i saw that they were on skyarts last night.
i didnt say everyone wants 'jumping up and down music',i was just trying to make an informed decision on who i personally should go and watch on sunday night.

as far as pogoing songs go, listen to the bends and ok computer, as it's a festival so they usually draw from these two albums the most (tracks such as paranoid android are excellent live), and do take the audience into consideration (which is why v06 was a full on greatest hits set, so i'd expect them to "rock" it up a bit for leeds/ reading). Guarantee everyone will be raving to idioteque, and bouncing off the walls to 2 + 2 = 5, gonna be brilliant

Ive watched that set twice now and just found myself going to 90min into it every other hour when Im bored (when Karma Police is on).


I really carnt wait to see Radiohead at Leeds this year, its going to be one of those special gigs!!

Depends what you want from your music. I like classical for relaxing, I like nofx/bad religion/the replacements/any other punk for their energy, I like a lot of dance music for...well parties and dancing. I like Radiohead because they created lush atmosphere and sonic textures. If your the type of guy who wants everyone jumping around and having fun EVERY band you see, then stay clear. If your ready to enjoy some great music and soak up the atmosphere, then see them.

As for PJ and SP...what? I know both (particularly SP) had periods of jamming and stuff, but there were many songs they played which had everyone bouncing around like mad.

There was a lot of moshing and pogoing when I saw them at Victoria Park! Especially to the likes of Paranoid Android and My Iron Lung.

Of all the times I have seen radiohead i can hardly say the audience was tense, when the right songs come on the crowd goes mental But radiohead do play amazing slow songs so its good just to sit back and take it all in

ALso this is before In rainbows which is possibly there second best album so theyre even better live now

i wasnt having a go at pearl jam and the pumpkins,theyre two of my favourite bands,it was just that a lot of people call them miserable bastards and i was saying they looked like happy clapping gospel choirs compared to the radiohead concert on skyarts.
