I've been to V, Reading and Download in the past but from reading posts on this site (stories about hidden tea rooms and magical dragons in lakes) it seems to me that Glastonbury is just on a totally different level
I've been told it's big but I think I've totally under-estimated the scope of the festival and now I'm worried about missing out of all these secret treasures!

One last mention about the tickets for the monorail that takes you to the arena before we all go?

Gargh...well yeah it will hit you then. The Lights will be blinding, other poetic sentences
Basically spend as much of Thursday walking around and familirising yourself with it. It will help if your in a rush to see a band, or even if you want to find a new area that you'll spend a lot of your festival in. I could give you the area of the site, but they're just figures. You're in for a treat, enjoy!

Don't fret about missing out. As long as you're happy all (long) weekend, that's all that matters.
You WILL miss stuff. But it'll be because you're not missing something else.

Glasto is vast - to get some idea check *THIS* (click on image for detail)
It is full of hidden gems away from the main stages. Just wander around and find a few for yourself.
Too many to recommend but I'm sure the stone circle, circus fields and green fields will keep you busy - nevermind all the music stages !
You are in for a real treat
Make the most of it as it passes quickly alas

its bigger than bath isnt it ? and thats just the arena
the monorail is probably on par with the london underground in terms of size and distance covered i reckon.
