int it normally the security firm that goes diving in head first if they feel like it? i'm pretty sure plod are there for keeping the peace, look out for dealers, show a presence, etc etc. not sure how anyone is supposed to know this. have you asked them?
it's a big dance event in the uk. not 'indian sacred land' (like burning man) where they leave you alone. common sense alone dictates that OB can get plenty of o/time & fill their stats at any dance event, if they wanted to

Can't say I noticed huge amounts of police last year, maybe I was too wasted?
I don't mind police at festivals, unless you're doing something obvious or being a knob they're pretty much fine, and usually friendly. It's the aggressive heavy handed security guards that scare me (not that they are all like that). In fact, I feel more comfortable knowing police are there to watch the security as well as us.
Still sucks to have your tent raided and trashed though.

I scored off a couple of 'security' staff last year. They really weren't f**ked at all from what I saw and a fair few were quite wasted. I spent the best part of an afternoon getting wrecked with one of them too. Police just seemed to be there to get dealers and thiefs
