anyone who wants to take supernoodles, get the blue dragon version. theyre bloody brilliant and have a taste that you would associate with noodles.
ive got some of them, a couple rice packs, couple of soup packets and jaffa cakes so far. still to get a tin of haggis, some rolls and some square sausage. that should do me. might get pasta if i can fit it.

if ur lookin to propa cook, then take veg n stuff already cut up to make a stirfry with readymade noodles (just need heating) takes 5 mins to stirfry up.
if takin a cool bag, cooked meat is good aswell.
im takin beans, ham. veg n herbs all ready to be cooked, cheese, potatos (to mash), sausages/bacon maybe, tinned salmon, wraps, microwave pudds (just cook in boiling water - they are in plastic pots), and falafel and maybe tofu. ill buy the eggs there.

janah, on Jun 18 2009, 01:49 PM, said:that is ace!!!!!!! defo doin the ggs tho... wont feel like a tru brekkie without it!We only usually take a few crisps, ceral bars and a stove and kettle with some cup-a-soups, coffee, tea and pot noodles, just for late-night an early morning snacks.
This is what we did a few years ago when money was tighter but we still wanted to live like kings (and queens):
Wednesday after set-up - sausage rolls, scotch eggs, pork pies and fresh fruit (all purchased at Tesco en route)
Wednesday night - stirfry (chopped the meat and veg at home beforehand, was fine in a coolbag)
Thurs morning - bacon, sausage, mushrooms and beans (didn't fancy attempting eggs on a camping stove though)
Thursday evening - casserole (made at home the weekend before and frozen - had been slowly defrosting in the coolbag since Wed morning and was just thawed but still very cold by Thurs night)
After that it was onto trusty tins. Apart from the obvious beans, spaghetti etc, don't forget tinned fruit and frankfurters!

Pretty much this for me. The frozen precooked meals act as freezer blocks in your cool bag as well, to help keep the booze cold. You'll need a stove of some sort but even if you just use it for morning tea after that you'll still be glad you had it.
I saved a fortune in the first two days last year, also Im really fussy about eating un-processed food so it was a major help for me.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Malt loaf. Malt loaf. Malt loaf. Requires no preparation, just tear off chunks, and it is great for breakfasts, snacks and midnight feasts. Can be squashed in bag and still tastes yummy. And it has fruit in it which is healthy... or healthier than things that don't have fruit in.
AND... today's discovery ... in Sainsbury's the loaves are a giant 50% extra free, PLUS on a buy 1 get 1 free. So for 62p you get 2 bumper loaves!

My thoughts from another thread....
If you do want to cook for yourself I have found that
Bacon - freeze it and chuck in a cool bag, should be OK until Friday Morn, Sausages, you can get those Hotdog types in tins or shrinkwrapped in plastic, nice in supernoodles (as are cambells meat balls) or just chucked on a BBQ (the big shrinkwrapped ones are nice BBQ'd).
Supernoodles and Cous Cous(just add water), Microwave Rice (wam in a pan)
Stew/Chili make at home and freeze, should last until Friday in a decent cool box/bag. Veggie curry is even better.
Stew make on site with good quality tinned steak, tinned veg and tin of potatoes, this is my toppest of top tips (one of my camping staples)- NICE!
Multipack cereal is good and the milk man heads round in a morningfor your all your fresh milk needs.
Brioche lasts ages, cereal/elevenses bars and fruit for brekky - Mmmmmm
Cannot think of anything else off the top of my head, though all day breakfast in a tin and the like are pretty grim, they do hit the spot!
I've also had some sort of chips, omlette and beans in a tin, but that was really grim.
Have to say, I prefer to eat on site but last year a tent neighbour had a proper, full monty breakfast on the go and it looked and smelled REALLY good! (Sausage, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato, sauted potato - looked awesome!)

I always take lemon and sultana mini pancakes (great to eat in the morning) and kellogs elevenses. They are essential snacks that I only ever eat when I am at a festival.
We are also going to make some chilli choc chip brownies and fruity flapjack.

Oh yeah, it's a dairy farm! There is a tractor that heads round selling milk. I was up in Big Ground and he was round pretty early. Guy stands on the back oc the Trailer shouting "Wakey Wakey, Milky Milky".
Not quite doorstep delivery but near enough for me.
here he is on his rounds
