Just a quickie, my Dad is 59, he's been to Glasto for the last 2 years, this year he's cycling there....from Leeds! My brother made Glasto Press aware and they said they might feature him in the Q daily. So if you see a feature of a nutter with bike that's my dad, say hello if you see him / us on site :D

He's doing it as a training run as he's doing Land's end to John O'Groats next year for his 60th birthday....nut job!

Proud to have a dad who's gutted that Echo and the Bunnymen and The Prodigy Clash

Sets off on Saturday, Plans to be there for mid day Wednesday, which is 8 hours before me!

Hardest leg he does is 65 miles in one day I think.

This has been planned. I have tried to ride the thing but I am shit. I have a guy that will shadow in a car, and it is possible in 24hours.

Bearded Theory is a charity event, and I said all cash to go to them :D

I'd agree myself but he's from Darn Sarf originally, he's learnt well since he moved up here though

Just finished a 500 mile cycle from Belfast to Plymouth, most miles in a day was 95, but hats off that's a long ride indeed, giving me ideas for next year although Brum is not as far as Leeds obviously  :D

Hope I can be that fit when I'm 60 - I'm still only a baby in early 40's  :D

Me and a mate did Camden, London to Glasto and back in 36 hours last year on a Jailbreak charity thang and that was tough, so all the best to your dad!

Well I hope the weather is kind to your dad on his journey to Glasto ie not too hot, wet or windy otherwise he may be too tired to leap about to bands like 'The Prodigy' etc. :D

Is he taking his camping gear (tent etc) with him on the bike too ?

Good Luck to him whatever - it's good green transport strategy :)
(but not for everyone) !!

PS You should be proud of your dad - not that many men of that age are so fit. :D
