Cooter, on Jun 19 2009, 02:45 PM, said:Maybe, but we are talking about the Park Stage arn't we? Can't stand them myself but a band as big as that could possibly overcrowd that area very quickly, which no one wants.
They famously played a secret set on Download's second stage in 2003, and that isn't open-air like the Park Stage, so never say never.
somecoolusername, on Jun 19 2009, 04:15 PM, said:Or Muse. I'm not too sure about all this 'beginning with m' business, but if we are basing it on the same points you are, it could also be Muse. Kerrang love 'em.
They did cross my mind, but then I wouldn't call them "one of the biggest bands in the world". Don't get me wrong, they're absolutely massive over here and in several other countries, but they don't seem to have the international status Metallica have.

There's no one on at the time I'd be bothered about missing. I'm going to turn up and expect the worst I personally do not believe it will be Metallica or Muse, however, I will not lose sleep over missing someone like Lady Gaga to see if it is someone good. There's talk of it being a 15 minute set which brings to mind The Killers for me despite their recent disenchanting headline spot they did a 3 song acoustic kind of set for mencap or something before Glasvegas I believe not too long ago and Hyde Park is the same weekend isn't it?

Just been looking at Metallica's tour dates. Their last gig before Glasto is on the 24th in Rome. Their first gig after is on the 7th of July in Germany. That's quite a large gap between the two dates, and it looks like they will be in Europe during Glasto time.
Maybe they really are a possibility?
