How essential do you think this is? I've gone without for the last few years but I've usually had someone else with one. I really don't want to spend any (more) money that I don't have to but I think this might be needed and I'm really tempted by this. Seems like a good deal. What do you folk think?

what in the name of f*ck is an anti-football back panel?! Looks excessively fancy to me, I just carry a common or garden back pack around, seems perfectly sufficient!

I got a small man bag from charity shop last year , When its empty , you do not know its there
and I can get about 4 cans if I need to.

It was about £2.00 and it looked new !

Very useful to have with you. I take my little Dakine pack that I go snowboarding with as it's got a camelbak style thing in it as well for carrying around a convenient water/vodka supply!

I just use a small army style knapsack (black not dodgy camouflage).

Peace x

Haha, that somehow passed me by....I've no idea what that means. My Mrs think it's unnecessary but I looked at the bags in Argos and, while I don't want to be flashy, I really don't want a schoolbag....

I'd buy some cheapy thing that you won't mind getting covered in mud... not that it will be muddy of course!

A small rucksack is very handy for carrying the beer around in!

Ok, I'm going with the general opinion that £30 is excessive. Any idea where best to look? Like I say, argos looks to be of no use.

I use my Camelback and keep the bladder strictly water only and carry cans of beer in it's pockets. It helps to me keep nice and hydrated whilst on the piss :D

I just wear combat trousers/shorts with loads of pockets for sunglasses/suncream/wallet etc. And the cloth bag you get on the door to carry a few cans in.

Drawstring bag for the tinnies. Annoying at first, but the pain eases as the tinnies go to the great recycling plant in the sky throughout the day

My rucksack has a pocket on the front which is actually removable and usable as a small backpack.  very useful!  Good for carrying a few cans and a jumper.

I just tend to take a v.small bag to put my important bits & pieces in then use either the cloth bag you get at the gate or the Guardian bag to carry bigger things like beer, camera & mac.  Can't be bothered to carry a big bag around.........and I'm a girl!  :D

Yeah, I might just go with a free drawstring one but they do my head in a little, I'd rather have something more pratical with pockets and whatnot. I'll have a wee gander through the charity shops at lunch tomorrow. There are about 4 or 5 near where I work....literally.

My point was, there aren't many places with 4 or 5 in close proximity...

I agree - drawstrings are the way to go.  They only cost a tenner aswell from sport shops.

I think I've posted about this before, probably many times.

I'm always in two minds about this, but as Glastonbury is so huge, and it takes so long to go back to camp, I do like to carry a couple of things with me.  I've got some combats this year, and a small belt-pouch for my camera, so I'm hoping I can ditch the back-pack in the evenings.  I will just use the back-pack during the day.

I've been using small backpacks, they are actually hydration packs, but I don't take the bladder.  The hydration packs are great, they are very small (I'd say you want less than 20litres, perhaps 15litres or less, otherwise you carry too much and they get heavy).  The hydration packs also tend to have millions of pockets for organization.  Great to put tissues and alcohol based hand gel in one, micro fleece for evenings in another section.  And I can keep my car keys buried in some internal zipped pocket.
