I'll be a bit drunk the first couple of days, nothing spectacular and then only have a few drinks the rest of the time.

I'm going to try and enjoy this one without getting too pissed cos I've come to the conclusion that I'm allergic to alcohol now that I'm the "other" side of 40! Hangovers from hell and three kids to entertain are not good together, not to mention the numerous trips to the longdrops

This will be my sixth Glastonbury and being teetotal, alcohol has never passed my lips in that field. Also never taken drugs. I can vouch that you will still have the greatest time ever, and to be honest it can be quite good fun being sober and seeing the foolish things people do. It's also good as you end up swept up in the atmosphere too. You can still chat to randoms and have banter, remember at Glasto everyone is your friend!

I'm sure it won't be difficult to get any at the fest mate!

I don't drink and I don't do any drugs, so I am one of those people!! It is fine without either don't worry!

Taking little chap this year for the first time so much straighter and soberer than previous years. Cant cope with hangovers anymore so will just be having a drink here and there and a few in the evening but nothing huge - just taking it easy.

I should be going straight and sober but I'm actually doing the exact opposite. The reason being that I'm competing in an Ironman Triathlon race on 02/08/09. For those who dont know that is a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and a 26 mile run. Nuts!!!!

so why would you do the opposite than going straight when you have a competition?
I never go as a 'straighthead' cant imagine it
being around so many f***** people if your sober must be real annoying

I don't drink much as I find it stops me doing stuff. However I will be taking loads of drugs, not because I need too to have a good time, but because I love the sensation of being on the edge.Glasto is the place where I can do this in public,it's great.

Pretty much what i am like too. Just too see so many like minded people in one place is fantastic!!

Yup sober and pregnant.. but what's this 'straight' business all about?! Glasto always tends to induce a non straight-thinking mindframe.. tis what I love. Sillyness shall ensue no matter whether cider has been replaced with smoothies and orange juice!! x

someone gave me the 'most stoned person at glastonbury' award in 94 and i've been trying to retain the crown ever since
but massive respect to those that cant and even more to those that dont want to
i think i may have won this award last year - i overdid things quite a bit
will not be clean this year but will not repeat the mess of last year - it was a bit too much and limited what I got to see and do! (still great fun though)

I've been teetotal for the past 20 yrs (41 now). No drugs other than tea and coffee. At times my wife and I have felt like the only sober people at GB, but there are plenty more families these days. (I've been a regular at GB for the past 23 years).
I know most people say people should do what they want, not what people tell them is right, but, if anyone is thinking about their lifestyle, I would encourage everyone to ditch drink (other than in moderation) and all of the other stuff. When you get older you realise your body starts to break down a little too often. Why help it on it's way at an early age?
When I wake up in the morning I know that's the best I can feel given the circumstances - no regrets!
Sermon over - bring on CSN & Y!

I'll be doing it with no booze or drugs, and I guarantee I'll have just as good a time as anyone else. I didn't even notice that many people who were seriously messed up last year, just a lot of people who were very merry. Certainly didn't feel out of place.

My other half has just been put on bloody antibiotics that you can't even so much as sniff alcohol with.
So she'll be sober, upto at least Wednesday when I'll be insisting she stops taking em
