always had to leave sunday night around midnight due to various work commitments and it's never been too bad. as long as you pack and dump your stuff in the car during the day, you'll be home in no time. i was usually back in london by 3am.

We were parked in A, where the coaches come in ... left straight after the headliners last year. Drove straight out of the site, no queue's.
But, friends of ours were leaving from another gate (apologies, don't know which one!), and they were stuck for about an hour.
So I suppose it depends on where you are parked ...
edit; stuff was packed and put in the car during the day, so we literally walked to car after headliners.
Peace x

My friend drove us back about an an hour or so after Groove Armada ended last year and we drove straight out with no traffic on the outside. This was mainly due to the fact that our car was already parked by the exit though.

+1 pretty much. I arrived 10am Weds morning into one of the west car parks so fairly near the entrance gate. Distinctly remember getting back to the car Sunday night and it was 12.50am on the car clock - was driving out as the 1am news was on the radio. Friends who arrived Weds night and were also in a west car park further from the site than me took an hour to get out at the same time.

There seemed to be a new super efficient method for getting off the site, as there didn't seem to be any queues at all...funny that we left at about 8.3am last year, car packed and driving off by about 9.00, out the gates by 9.30, on the m5 at 10.15

Yeah similar time last year and we sailed out. After 2007, we couldn't believe it. Kept thinking "There's probably a queue round this corner"

we left after Groove Armada last year. it helped that we were parked in the west car parks, as it was straight along the railway line to the car - about 30 mins - and then an hour in the car queuing before we hit the open road. back in london by 4am if i remember right

There seemed to actually be stewards in the car park last year on Monday.
In 2007, we met one. He was visibly f**ked and told us "You might as well go to sleep for 6 hours", before asking if we had any booze he could chief

You would be out in a flash!!
Cant believe you would leave early but.............even if you dont like the headliners..........there is still stuff to do and see...........

How long is a piece of string? It depends what time you get there and where you car is parked...........To be out quickly you must leave in the middle of the night when everyone is sleeping...........

Im taking a friend of mine to Glasto for the first time...however he has just found out he is being deployed with the military at short notice and being picked up from worcester at 4.00 am on monday after glasto - apart from the obvious culture shock he is going to get...eeek.... what are your experiences of leaving right after the final band - how long are the queues out the car parks, and how are the roads...all experiences and tips gratefully recieved
thanks
Have done this the last 2 years, 1st got out no problems, really quick, 2nd wasn't as great, someone had a crash & we sat in a queue for about 30 mins, but then turned round & got straight out coz they'd opened another exit.
Be warned, it's like whacky races when you leave, we hit the motorway & there were people with handbrakes on, swerving allover the road, Dick Dastardly & Mutley chasing Penelope Pittstop etc etc

I drove straight out in about 15 minutes last year. However, our car was parked near the exit because my girlfriend didn't turn up until friday.
You could always move your car nearer the exit on sunday if you really want to make sure you get out quickly.
