well no doubt youre going to list bands from the 80's but as far as modern day post hardcore, and the popularization of it igoes, post hardcore.

It just seemed ignorant to say that a hardcore band which had a hit single, and gave the genre some mainstream notoriety, invented the genre, that's all. Don't mean to be pedantic...

i think these bands gave it a new sound. You can hear the Fugazi influence etc, but you cant deny they all significantly changed the genre
