and particularly not if that practitioner is claiming that "the technology, skill and hygene procedures make it more disciplined and knowledgable than most dentists".

Or have the started offering 6 year degrees and training in tattooing? :lol:

Christ!

Scratchers aren't likely to afford the licence and/ or equipment to get them, in terms of having the necessary requirements. Most good (i.e. profitable/ busy) modern tattoo parlours are getting them and trainee artists are being trained in the process. I'm not literally saying that you can judge a tattoo parlour by its laser removal machines. Haway, this isn't complicated surely.

@abdoujaparov

I know (don't ask me why this has gone darker) it's like how long is a piece of string but can you give me any indication of how much tattoo's cost. I don't want one done but am curious as to their price. If I give you an example it might be better -how much do you reckon one of them elongated tattoos are that some women have on their lower back? Apologies if this is beyond a daft question.

most tattoo artists charge by the hour, and hourly rates depend on how good they are and where you live (more expensive in London, for example). In my area (Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire) you'd expect to pay at least £60 an hour for a decent artist. You might pay £80 in the south east. The cost of a particular piece then depends on how long it takes - which is a product of its complexity.

Does that help?

Whatever - it's hardly worth arguing about.

I dont know any good studios that have laser equipment, I dont know any good tattoo artists who want to be trained in the process - they're tattoo artists, not professional tattoo removers. In your opinion, most good studios (however you define it) have or are getting lasers. In my experience, it isnt widespread and is irrelevant as far as a judgment about whether the studio is good or not is concerned. Let's leave it at that.

Back to your original point...anyone who treats tattoos as anything other than permanent has got a screw loose.

I'm just pointing out the change, dude. Give it two years and you won't be saying that. Tattoo removal is a huge industry. It's all part of the norm round here. Maybe it's a north east thing because no one's got any cash up here so diversifying with cosmetics is the way. I dunno. Fuck it, the tattoo artist that brought this shit to my attention has moved out anyway and I fucking hate tattoos. Excellent shag though. Just thought I'd pass on the vibe like.

p.s. £60 an hour is the norm round here too. £40 for apprentices or trainees.

i'm trying to think. I'd have something that looked like two things at once. i've got a top that has artwork of a butterfly. But in the middle of the wings there are 2 eyes. And if you focus on them, the 'butterfly' looks like a mask.

And there's a necklace in the shape of a mask that's also a spider.

I like ambiguity.
