This one's a little Head-onistic!

Link here.

There's a total eclipse of the sun passing over Easter Island in July 2010. A psy-trance festival has been scheduled to take place at the same time and the campsite will be open for two weeks. The last time this island saw an eclipse was probably befor it was settled and it's ecosystem disasterously altered by humans

As far as festivals go, this one is hugely expensive, taking into account tickets and travel. It's also a once in a life time experience, not only to go to the island, but also to witness an eclipse there, and to go party at a festival there.

Tickets need to be bought soon as there are limited places. Connection flights from Chile also need to be bought soon as there will be a lot of people goign to this island for the eclipse.

Anybody considering it?

This looks incredible, unfogettable!  You'd have so many mini adventures to tell your grandchildren kinda thing.  I would love to go, unfortunately know I will not have that amount of money at the time or now to justify it though.

To be honest I think you should f**k the man and post this in the Glastonbury Chat, as not that many people venture outside what they already do on this site, unless it's something they've heard of and are thinking of doing.  Without meaning to be too stereotypical, I think they're the kind of people that would be up for it :)

I have to wonder if this is some kind of April Fools for "lets see where we can convince people there is a psytrance festival".  They always pop up in the oddest locations but Easter Island takes the biscuit.  Next year Im making a fake website for a psytrance festival on the moon and seeing if I can get people to go.

Found out about this a couple of nights ago.

I'm going.

EDIT: And don't post about it in Glastonbury thread until I've got my flights sorted next month...

Anyone else thinking of going to this?

And having problems booking/paying for the festival tickets?

It seems that LAN Airlines have taken all seats off sale to the public for two weeks either side of the eclipse.  You need to have verified/authorised travel plans to be able to get a seat.  Until we can get our fest tickets, we can't get our air tickets.

We actually have flights provisionally reserved direct with the airline but they are not ideal (arrive day before eclipse, cutting it fine!), and at £504/each not a bad fare, but we're hoping that once we get our fest tickets we will get a much wider choice of dates.

Any ideas?
