How stable are they in windy conditions?
I tested mine the other weekend, you will need two people to put it up (possible on your own, but much harder), but once up and all the guys tightened (after I redid all the Quechua knots which were too small and pulled out first time the wind blew), it seemed pretty sturdy.

However, I won't be taking it to Glasto, the guy-ropes come out for miles in each direction.

I think my mate is bringing a gazebo anyway (one between 7 of us).  Not worth me spending another score for no reason.

Defo getting one, theres 13 of us!! Need somewhere to have a coffee and a bruiser in the morning.

Ill probably draw the efests dancing guy on the side of it so feel free to pop but for some tea. Big Ground near the trees most likely if we can get in early.

Anyone used a pop up gazebo like this one before?

Used a pop-up Gazebo before (not at a festival though), and it was real easy to put-up/take-down.  Also seemed to be pretty strong and sturdy compared to those cheap Gazebos.

No idea if the one I used is like the Argos one though.

To try and avoid the negativity sometimes associated with Gazebos I usually try and build something a bit more interesting. After previous years of building a communal shelter out of flag poles and old dome tent poles I've gone a bit further this year and built this dome structure:

It's going to have an ex army parachute over the top which is currently undergoing reconstructive surgery to repair some rather large holes (and once that's done it needs waterproofing).

I feel guilty about the amount of space it takes up but in previous years my constructions have been welcomed by those around us so hopefully this one will add something to everyone's experience rather than being a nuisance. Feel free to pop in say hello if you see it (there will be a lot of flags flying from it, one of which will be the same as my Avatar).

As seems to be the general consensus it is far more annoying to see people fencing off areas for their exclusive use than making good use of a gazebo. I hate trying to save space for late arrivals as it feels very antisocial, to avoid this I'm going to be taking the tents of everyone in our group in my car as I'd much rather spend most of Wednesday putting up tents than asking people not to camp next to us as we wait for late arrivals.

hmmm great debate, i bought 1 in tesco the other day, cheap i thought at just over £11 we got 6 tents between 14 of us so we just want an area where we can stand if it rains. whether it's a good idea or not i'll tell you in just over a weeks time
