Hey, new to all this festival stuff so need a bit of help ere.

Flying from belfast city with a few mates on Friday at 7:00, and get to Birmingham at around 8.05. By the time we get into the city centre to buy the booze and get down to Staffordshire via the V-Festival coach ticket which we booked on the internet, I'm assuming it would be nearer 11:00 to 12:00.

If my working out is correct, it should take about 30mins to get into the city from the airport to buy are stuff, then around another 30mins to get to Weston Park.

So, if we got to the festival entrance at around, between 10:30 and 11:00 say, how long would it take to get into the campsite? and if we arrived at that time, would we still be able to get a fairly ok spot in the the blue campsite? (want good atmosphere according to that campsite guide)

Thanks for any help in advance,

-Mark.

The airport is quite a while out from the city centre, but at the airport there is a free mini shuttle runner monorail thing linking the airport and 'Birmingham International' train station. If you get this shuttle to the train station, then catch a train from International to Birmingham New Street (Which will take 10mins or so). Birmingham New Street is right in the City Centre

In regards to getting to the fest from Brum...Its going to take you 1 hour and a half..without traffic...so with traffic, and it will be chokka....its going to take alot longer

oooh...one other suggestion...once you're at the site...don't be tempted to get the shuttlebus back into wolverhampton for the friday night...the traffic on the evenings is absolutely horrendous...couple of years ago a fe wof my mates left work in town at 5 and didn't get to the campsite until after midnight...shocking! theres plenty to do on friday night...including the legendary indie disco!!!

Question flaming, seeing as you seem to know a good bit about it ;)

Why get a train to wolverhampton? Do the coaches which you order with the festival tickets not leave from the centre of Birmingham or around about there?

But thanks, as long as we can get into one of the more lively campsites we'd be happy

hehe, Last of the Summer Wine picnic areas are great banter...only kiddin  lol

but yea I know what you mean, we'll have to take the designated coach to get our festival tickets, so not able to use any other options.

But when we where booking the coach tickets, it just said select a location, such as Manchester, Birmingham, etc etc, not a specific point within one of the areas. So I'm assuming we will recieve some sort of leaflet when the tickets arrive, otherwise we'd be kinda screwed lol.

Oh yea, just remembered, the coach tickets are linked with the Big Green Coach, so it's them who go from Birmingham etc, so it's not the shuttle buses we'd need ;)

But thanks for your help,

much appreciated ;) <3
