Thats good news
As much as i love Blues i find these days that BB King is just so predictable, same old set,saw him about two years back at NEC, not very good, and as for John Mayall, well he did some good stuff with clapton, Green and Taylor many many years back, but nothing since...Give some new Blues a chance...Jo Bonamassa would be my first choice

Of all the places I put my first post its on the Jazzworld stage page - not bad for an old (41) indie kid who should know better.
Why has nobody mentioned the magnificent Ojos de Brujo for Glastonbury? Anybody who has seen them before will know just how fantastic they are live.
I'd like to throw in a request (can we do that, if only..) for Amadou & Mariam as well, I think I saw somebody else earlier in this thread mention them as well.
And if Manu Chao wants to put Mano Negra back together for the night I would be very happy. I know Manu Chao is great now anyway but just for old time sake.
Right off to other parts of the forum to add my two pence worth...

Would love to see them, and there's a new album out I think, but no hint of them playing as yet....

The Nal, on Apr 21 2009, 01:32 PM, said:So where are all the bands? Maybe the best stage of the lot, and 4 or 5 confirmed bands so far?
Tinariwen and Michael Franti being two I'll defo see, (and obviously, but doubtful that he'll be there, BB King).
Huh?
"If you book them, they will come".
Yeah what's the deal with the Jazzworld announcements (or lack of them)? I'd love to see B.B King play live but if he plays on the sat, i might miss Crosby, Stills & Nash
! However, it's a nice situation to be in, isn't it?

Sorry can't agree with the dissing of BB King and John Mayall. Both greats. I don't think Mayall is that special as a performer but the bands he puts together have always been superb and really tight.

Tinariwen are playing on Saturday - they're doing a slot on Jazzworld as well as one on the Pyramid (both Saturday).

Off to see them at The Roundhouse in a couple of Sundays time as well, should be fun, it usually is.Would love to see them, and there's a new album out I think, but no hint of them playing as yet....
