some great additions in the latest update of
EVAN DANDO, JOHNNY FLYNN, BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB, MUMFORD AND SONS, DIRTY STOP OUT, THE TWILIGHT SAD, CURSIVE / EMMY THE GREAT, THECOCKNBULLKID, KOKO VON NAPOO /
POST WAR YEARS, AMAZING BABY, GIRLS
other interesting bits in the latest email is
"Gaymers cider will be hosting The Maccabees grassroots gig in a secret Brighton location, Levi's® OnesToWatch® will be at Audio again this year featuring a very special gig on Saturday afternoon. "
and
"Relentless Street Gigs are taking place through out the weekend, so keep an eye out for those."
Saturday afternoon looks like it's going to be very busy!
I wonder if relentless being involved means we'll get a different style of secret gig. maybe gallows tearing apart the library or ghost of a thousand on the carousel.

Can anyone suggest any good hip hop, grime etc in the lineup? Fancy something a bit different from guitar based rock, indie, metal during the 3 days.
Thanks

Haha! Brilliant! I was in the process of doing a clash guide!! I have almost finished though, so I may as well post it up and people can use whichever one they prefer. Wish there was some confirmation over the Maccabees/Metronomy though.....

I think they have near enough sorted the confirmaton. it is looking like early morning gigs well for metronomy defo as they're djing at 1am at another bar in brighton. maccabees early morn thurs sounds a wicked way to kick of the fest. the ques shoudln't be too stupid either if that is the case.

So the lineups are pretty much locked in now as they won't want to mess with the printed versions. Time to make some choices.

My choices virtually sorted. I think I'm gioing to be going for quite a few of the less well known (yet ) bands where there should be more chances of getting in. Mind you I still might make an attempt to see The Maccabees at their late night show as The Corn Exchange is a big venue and there should be a reasonable chance of getting in. But if not I have a back up plan.

I'm in a bit of a fix and wondering if anyone can help me.
I'm still trying to sort out a place to stay for this and still having trouble. I've found that the Grapevine North Laines hostel has got a place available on the Thursday night (for £15) and I am able to stay with a friend on Saturday night but I'm still stuck for Friday.
I've looked through all the hostels and hotels I can find but they are either full or out of my pricerange (£15-£20 for the night) All I really want is a place I can get a couple hours kip and most importantly, have a shower.
What could I do?

Hey guys, sorry if you all have tickets, but if you don't then try this, it's pretty simple:
There is a competition on Virgin's music blogging webiste http://music.virgin.com/
It's really easy all you have to do is comment saying whether you would rather see Just Jack or The Charlatans.
Here's the full link: http://music.virgin....scape-festival/
Good luck

Does anyone know anything about the Ben Kweller gig? He is down to play 10:15 on the Friday @ Horatios, but he is playing a gig at Koko London the same night! The London gig is an "early" show (20:30), but unless he's planning on hiring a helicopter it seems a bit tight!
Also BK website has him down for Saturday in Brighton? Any ideas? As it stands he's clashing with Lightspeed Champion
Cheers

Only thing it says on the site is that you will get 'priority entry' but that is still subject to capacity. The only thing that springs to mind upon reading that is there will be a seperate queue?

Although I've never done the delegate thing as I'm not interested in listening to the lectures (I'd rather get out there and listen to music) I seem to remember that if you got there early delegates were let in first then normal punters. If a venue is full then delegates get priority entry when someone comes out. If there is still capacity at any other point delegates can effectively queue jump.
I've (so far) not had a problem seeing the bands I want to see though as a non delegate...if its a gig that is likely to busy (for example Mystery Jets / British Sea Power @ Sallis Benney) then make sure you get there early and be prepared to queue a bit. Also the late night gigs can get busy, although at least this years NME gigs with The Maccabees, Metronomy etc they are in the Corn Exchange which is a big old venue....
