Anyone else wanting to watch the game?

I e-mailed the 'infoman' address provided by the Glasto website, and was told that due to a lack of demand there probably won't be any official site showing the game. I was told that some traders may show it, but as it's almost certainly on sky, I didn't think that was particularly likely...

Therefore, if you want to watch the game, e-mail Glasto and demand!! What better way to warm up for Springsteen.

In principle I'd be up for watching it.. but in reality.. on a full festival day, when are you gonna find time??! Never mind, I can catch BB King or Bruce Springsteen any time, let's watch the Lions have their arses whipped yet again on TV instead.. Ain't gonna happen

It would depend on the time of day and as there is no time difference it will be during the afternoon/evening so screens used for more important things. Mind you we saw the All Blacks thrash us a few years ago. But that was early morning because of the time difference. So glad I got up for that.

They did show the Lions games in 2005 but if memory recalls correctly, this was an exception as it had been so long since the last tour and the games were on before the music started. No idea how popular it was- I was supposed to go and watch the games but funnily enough the hangovers kind of prevented that.

I have to admit that 6 out of our gang of 8 will be wanting to watch the rugby so thats a few more that will email the Glastonbury people!!

I'd probably try and find time between 3 and 4:30! An hour and a half out of a 12 hour festival day would be pretty easy to find, I managed it last year... Was just hoping I wasn't the only one wishing for a screen to show the game somewhere this year!

Just had this response from Glastonbury Festival organisers:

"I'm sorry I think it's unlikely that we will be showing the rugby. The

cinema screens will be showing films over the 3 days of the festival.

I'm afraid we don't normally show sport at the festival unless it's a

world cup game."

So probably a no then!!

Even though they showed a Lions test in 2005 (albeit at 9am) ?! That's pretty disappointing, but I'm going to keep trying to canvas support. I'm sure out of 175,000 people there will be enough to justify showing the game somewhere...

shit i totally forgot about the lions clashing with glastonbury, being a huge rugby fan will want to be watching it although not over a certain few bands. does anyone no with the time differences what sort of time the test is likly to take place?

In principal I am interested, but I would not want to plan my day around it. In fact I wouldn't want to plan my day at all, other than the fact that I consider Springsteen to be unmissable.

There is the principle of mixing the outside world with Glasto. Most of us go to forget the 'real' or 'outside' world. But I remember a few years ago there was an England World Cup match and the festival was divided for days over whether it should be shown. In the end it was shown on the Pyramid Stage screen and there was a great atmosphere and it went down well.

Not sure rugby has the same broad popular pull as soccer. It does where I live in Wales. But also not sure about the fervour that a Lions match (as opposed to a six nations match) will engender amongst the majority of Glasto goers.

Shame we couldn't have had Wales stuffing England shown at Glasto. That would have got the flags waving.

also my mate is a fan of Corrie so put that on too.

And and some porn on late night would go down a teat.

Oh and a big screen hooked up to a ps3 for a quick game of grand theft auto now and again.

because god knows i can't live without these things for five days at the greatest festival in the world!
