we did some jelly baby vodka last year - went down a treat - altough we went a bit OTT with the jelly babies so it was a bit sickly quite quickly.  Doing it again this year, but instead of the 4 bags of jelly babies - we will stick to just the one - or even a half!

Do the jelly babies dissolve or do u scoop them out at the end & how long would I leave them for? :D

They dissolve completely in a few days.  If you put the bottle in a warm place they'll dissolve overnight.  Top tip: rinse the anti-caking powder off the jelly babies before you put them in the vodka because it doesn't dissolve.

Does it make it completly drink-able straight? Or is it still a bit vomit inducing (yes i'm soft)

do you have to cut up the jelly babies because if i recall correctly i stuck one in water once and all it did was double in size.  i take it with vodka it breaks it down instead?

Well, I guess that kinda depends on how many jelly babies you use and how much of a pansy you are.

They just dissolve normally.  If you've got a lot in a bottle then a quick shake every few hours helps things along.

I'm sticking to the skittles, it was dangerously nice, my mate made werthers vodka and it just tasted like washing up liquid.

My tip for skittles vodka is to just leave the green ones out, dissolve and filter through a muslin cloth, taste and add more skittles if necessary.

I drunk a litre (minus all the sips I gave to folk insisting they try it) on the Wednesday. It was sooo easy to quaf

I made Mars bar vodka last year it was gorgeous...going to make chocolate orange vodka this year :D

I did Green&Black's orange and spice - it's a dark chocolate so it made it really deep and rich and not sickly sweet - luverly.

I love the single flavour jelly bean idea... I'm gonna go for a hunt and see if they still do chocolate fudge cake flavour.

I might try and see if something less sickly and more unusual like avocado and chilli or lemongrass and chilli - I've tried Skittles vodka but it was a bit sickly for me - could see something with a chilli kick being really lovely.

OK, a question that may turn out to err on the expensive side but you know how Jelly Bellies in some shops you can buy as individual flavours...the mind boggles at the vodka fun that can be had potentially? Here's the linky for all the flavours...

go play and someone bring me a bottle of watermelon flavour for suggesting it! :)

What have people found is the best vodka to use for this?

I'm a Stolichnaya fan usually, but will any old crap work for infusion? i.e., stuff you can get for a few quid in tesco?

is it just me or is all vodka the same, why would you buy the expensive vodka only to put a load of sweets in? or am I just being cheap and stupid...?
it's Sainsburys Basics vodka everytime for me...

Apart from Iceland vodka - which is just rubbish because it's 22%!!
hmm... reece's peanut butter cups would be nice!

I might experiment with cherry pez.

I wonder what popping candy would be like... oh dear - am going to be spending a fortune on sweets this year!
