Hi,
We went to staffs two years ago and were wondering if anything will have changed this year. Could anyone help with a few questions;
1. Did the camp sites open on Thursday last year and do you know if they will open like that this year? I know 2007 it was a nightmare with traffic jams on the Friday!
2. Have the tickets for staffs been divided like Chelmsford? (Red and Yellow camping?)
3. How are the transport links from the Train stations? I know the websites recommend going to Stafford train station and getting the bus to the festival.... but the train tickets are cheaper into Telford, it is easy to get a taxi/bus from there?
Hope you can help!

Hiya
1) yep they sure did opened early thursday morning and yes they are doing it this year aswell we already have our thursday camping tickets from the pre-sale. They are £10 for the thursday night but well worth it, its quieter and its nice to have a night sleeping with some space round you!
2) camp sites arent like chelmsford however on a thursday only 2 campsites are open and last year it was red and orange. so if you want to camp elsewhere then expect to have to move friday morning. Friday campers can camp in red and orange however so its not segregted all weekend
3) The shuttle buses run very frequently but I dont use them myself so cant fully advise you on this one. However I think telford shuttles dont go from the train station, think they go from the international centre but I may be wrong! I know a lot of people shuttle from wolverhampton so check that out aswell
hope this helps

Thanks for your reply....
Does anyone have any info on the quickest and easyest way to get into the festival by train??
I don't really want to get the train to be stuck in a traffic jam on the bus!

to be fair there isn't much difference which station you go to as the queues for shuttle buses from train stations is always horrendous. So bear that in mind and the earlier you can get there the better as the queue shouldn't be as big. Mate of mine got Stafford station for nine in the moring last year and got a shuttle bus quite quickly compared to the times i have done it and waited for hours!!
So best advice i can offer is leave as early as you possibly can and it will make it easier for you if you want to do train and shuttle buses, in theory of course!
