Saw Emmy the Great at the Ruby Lounge in manchester.  Asked her afterwards if she is likely to be playing Glastonbury this year.  She said she expects to be there.

If you haven't seen her, I think it's worth doing so.  An original voice in a world of mass production.  Plenty to see on youtube if you fancy a look.

She played last year and now I'm hooked.  Better still, she remembered me from last time.

Bugger, If I wasn't sat in a Prague bar right now, I'd consider getting a train down to London.  Almost makes me want to fly back early

Saw her in JP last year, she is lovely :D She pulled a reasonable crowd for what was one of the first slots of the day..

"What are you all doing here", she asked, "if I didn't have to play I'd be watching Martha Wainwright, why are you not over at Pyramid?" ;)

Anyway was a good set, especially given that I think she hadn't got much practice in with the band (having split up with boyfriend's band, think she's back with him now or something).

Gabriel is such an incredibly lovely song, and We Almost Had a Baby is newer. My Party is Better than Yours here. Not sure about new album..

Her album sounds a bit more radio friendly than i thought her older songs were.  'Edward is Deadwood' is great.  Also think the lyric 'i thought love was what dribbled between your legs onto your skirt' is possibly the best line ever.  Cant remeber the song though.  Am i just a bit sick?

She didnt interact with the crowd as much when i saw her last week than she did last year, mebby cos she was trying to get more songs in, idk.  lost a bit of the appeal though as her banter is great.

In case people weren't sure how to interpret Almost Crimes posts - she *is* playing tonight at Rough Trade in Brick Lane. According to email I just received it's an "acoustic instore at rough trade east with eugene McGuinness and Exlovers. It's free entry and starts from 6.30."

See you there!

I really want to see her.  She never plays here, so getting to do so at Glasto would be nice.

New album in a few months.  Would be perfect for the 2011 lineup.
