probably not; the line-up doesn't look very exciting (for me).

I'm pretty pleased with the announcement so far except for Oasis.  In my opinion they are well past it and will only disappoint.

Loving the line-up so far and it only will get better.

@ColFace: the organizers are huge fans of the band, it's like a dream coming true for them to get oasis on their little festival.

bring on july. 8)

inevitable that oasis were going to be playin as their playin pretty much every other european festival this year. I used to be a big fan but fact is liam can't sing for shit anymore! Still, am sure there will be a drunken singalong or two.

Rest of the line up is lookin pretty awesome, aphex twin, digitalism, jazzanova, and all the rest! can't fookin wait!

Don't get me wrong I think it will be great and I can't wait for it - if last year is anything to go by they will keep adding great acts in the run up.  Its just that Oasis live don't tend to deliver the goods but I hope they prove me wrong!  I've seen them a few times but the Melt main stage may work well for them.

I'll see you at the diggers!

Hi....i am really thinking about going to this this year, what with no Summercase and Benicassim turning into Reading by the sea Festival.

So, info...flight to Berlin i presume is the best? What´s the camping like? Decent sites etc or a complete nightmare?

Any info much appreciated.

There's loads of info on last year's thread:

But yeh, flight to Berlin then train, bus or hire car.  I never camped last year but will be this year, it seems decent to me.

The video linked below kind of sums up Melt for me, it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling:

We spent most of our time at the Gemini stage which is the one in the video.

Its certainly not the biggest festival but that's probably why its so good, c. 20k.  Its small enough that you can get anywhere in 10 mins and not too rammed that you get caught in a sea of people.  The atmosphere is great with a really lovely crowd.  The acts on the various stages mean you don't have much dead time when you're killing time waiting for something you like to come on.  It gets going around 7pm until 8am with lots of dancing.  There is a 'sleepless floor' for during the day if you are avoiding sleep, I never made it to that though as I had a waterbed waiting for me in the hotel!  Booze will be quite pricey though, esp with the weakness of the £.

I'd definitely recommend it.  :D

It just keeps getting better and better.  I cannot wait.  I really think Melt is in the running for best festival in Europe.  The line up always kicks ass and the atmosphere is tremendous.  Woop woop. xx

I don't think last year sold out until close to the event.  It is a small festival though, c. 20k (ish).  A couple of my mates are getting their tickets in April.

Boys Noize closed the Gemini stage last year on the Friday and it was just carnage.  It will be amazing with Erol on stage as well.

Are you camping or getting a hotel? x

Yeh the Mixery bit looks ok.  Its a bit cut off from the main camping bit though.  Good for sleep but not so good for carnage.  Its tempting not to have to carry camping crap over and they have a hot tub! x

me and my mate are heading there this year..
anybody have any good links for cheap(ish) flights?
i've been looking for a while but the cheapest i can seem to find them for is around £80.
i'm not complaining at that, but would be nice to get them for a little less!

also what's the food and stuff like there?
like fests over here?
