<Pulls up permanent seat in the weather thread>

Morning weather watchers - how are we all this fine year?  Except it's NOT fine is it?

It's shite really, weather wise.  Snow is crap with no redeeming features (I don't want bullshit about 'but it's pretty' etc, etc - when you've seen one lot of 'send us your pictures' on the BBC website, you've seen them all.  I hate snow and reserve the right to) and it was pissing it down all night.

As some of you may or may not know, I get a little bit tetchy when it comes to the weather for Glastonbury.  This year, as you're ALL aware (I may take an advert out in every major national newspaper - the Stourbridge News has already covered my plight as it was one of those weeks with very little news, no cats had been caught up trees that week) I'm NOT going to Glastonbury.

BUT, the weather thread helped me pass the time.  So I'm going to continue looking and ranting at the result, especially if it's not predicting wall-to-wall sunshine (even when it's night time - I'm unreasonable) and 30 degree heat.

IF I was going, that would be the conditions I would be DEMANDING this year.  I don't want any of you lucky bastards to suffer just because I'm not going.  Surely the thought of a Langdale-less Glasto is punishment enough?  (No sarky replied to this thanks....)

So, rain can f**k off.  Again.  It's not 'fun' in the mud, it's crap.  The festival is still awesome, but just less awesome than if it's nice and sunny.

I've got my fingers crossed for you.

Surely the fact that you just posted means that it has now crossed your mind?

Oh that won't bother them, ktej!!  I was there in 2004, 2005 and 2007.  The bastard just kept coming back stronger every year until they'd almost run out of rain last year.

So, they spared us (mostly) in 2008, but 2009 could go either way.  I predict a scorcher, simply because I'm not going.  If so, I'm happy for you all.

Anyone posting on here DOES care about the weather, and they're simply lying to themselves.  It DOES make a BIG difference.

Oh I'm glad we're discussing the weather already! It's never too early!! Has anyone got access to any statistics? Like how many wet Glasto's in a row there's been? Maybe we could find out if we're statistically due a dry one (I think yes)

Thanks Langdale Wolf, it wouldn't be the same without you coaching Scorcher FC!!

From the ones I've been to:

2000 - mostly dry, a bit of rain on the Thursday
2004 - Thursday HOT.  Friday HOT.  Saturday & Sunday WET.
2005 - Thursday HOT.  Then a Biblical flood.  Friday to Sunday sunny but mostly soaking underfoot.
2007 - Shite.  Wet.  Muddy.  And it just got worse.  Yuck.
2008 - Mostly fine, except some rain on Thursday night through until Friday afternoon.  Otherwise okay.

You're due wall-to-wall sunshine.

I've done the same ones as you then, bar 2000. I remember my mates coming back from 2003 browner than if they'd spent a month backpacking round Spain, that was the last dry (scorchio!) one I think, I want some of that ass!!

Just had a call from the chairman and apparently my Scorchers FC contract has been renewed for season 09.

(There goes the degree now the weather thread is up and running.)

Just to add to that list I seem to remember
2002- mostly dry. Not scorching and fairly overcast but perfectly pleasant
2003- HOT HOT HOT HOT, sunday - the odd downpour especially as the headliners finished

Oh, and we shouldn't forget the 2006 fallow year when, what would have been Glastonbury weekend, was outrageously gorgeous weather.

If every single person programs the thought that it will be absolutely glorious weather for the whole of glastonbury it will happen!!! So whenever you get a bad thought about rain, banish it with hot sunshine!!
