Bloom vs Dim Sum

We are pretty damn excited about our new bi-monthly at the awesome Horse and Groom - our favourite two floor venue in the heart of Shoreditch, East London; a tarted up boozer with two floors, each equipped with rather large sound systems and a 4am license to boot!

This place started out as a ‘best kept secret’ but weekend after weekend the place is heaving with all-star line-ups and a fantastic, fun, no holds barred crowd pounding dem dancefloors - And we’re kicking off 2009 with something very special indeedy...!

THE LOOSE CANNONS

Do The Loose Cannons need an introduction? These guys are just killing it anywhere and everywhere – 2008 saw them heavily tearing up festival fields and packed clubs all over Europe and you just can’t get hotter (and filthier) than these dudes. Kaiser Saucy & Lord Fader are the faces behind this surging force of nature - making heavy choons for heavy people. Recent remixes for Roisin Murphy, Justice, Ben Mono, The Mighty Boosh, Sunday Best, Space Cowboy & Nadia Oh have been injecting dirt-fuelled disrepute to dancefloors worldwide. We can’t wait to see them do their damage at our February session.

DIM SUM feat JAMES HARCOURT

Co-hosting the night will be our friends, Dim Sum who have been putting on crafty nights around London since their sell-out Passenger boat party and who will be celebrating their 1st birthday tonight with cake, hats, hooters and special guest; techfunk producer legend, James Harcourt.

Producing since 2001 and launching his own label (Twisted Frequency) in 2005 James has become a bit of an underground superstar working with and remixing the likes of Audiojack, Spirit Catcher, Mike Monday, Lutzenkirchen, Hernán Cattáneo & Hook'N'Sling.

He has won the admiration and explicit praise of Dave Seaman, Hernán Cattáneo, Ian Ossia, Nic Fanciulli, Sébastien Léger and Fergie among others - and his tracks have been placed onto an impressive list of CD compilation placements, including Erick Morillo's Subliminal Winter Sessions, Hernán Cattáneo's Renaissance Sequential series, Hook'n'Sling's Chew The Fat! CD and the legendary Pure Pacha collection in 2008 - true testimony to the global dancefloor appeal of the music.

Dim Sum residents; JAYMIN DOE, BANKSMAAN & ANDREAS will be doing the birthday hootin’ and a hollerin’ the rest of the time.

LAST FM DJ TEAM

Bloom are super excited to be working and playing with the uber cool Last FM this year, to this end we have asked their very cool DJ team to come down and educate the masses with their hot-hot tunage! Covering everything and anything from indie, post-punk, disco, electro, avant-rock and occasionally rolling out their user generated charts (based on users listening tastes attending an event) - making sure everyone’s happy!

KID FIESTA

Bloom resident and chief party starter needs little introduction. Known for his versatile DJ skills, Fiesta will be keeping the house vibe flowing with a special set taking in a wide range of house music styles that will be guaranteed to keep you grooving!

DEATH OF A PONY

These gorgeous electro chicks made such an impact at our Christmas party we just couldn’t wait to get them back again. Playing all your favourite filth and fun – with a bit of sass on the side, these girls certainly know how to work it.

Did I mention that on the 7th Feb at Bloom vs Dim Sum you can:

1) Pick up a goody bag with exclusive FLY53 tshirts & special mix CDs?

2) Win Bloom Festival tickets for you and all your mates?

3) Get your facepainted?

4) Wear a birthday hat?

5) Oh yeah and listen to some kick-arse tunage c/o The Loose Cannons, James Harcourt, Last FM, Dim Sum crew, Kid Fiesta & Death of a Pony with your chums and get really stupid?!

Details of our next incredible club night...

Bloom is very pleased to present the "Lost Disco" at MiMo's giant warehouse party on Saturday 14th March.

The Lost Disco has been a staple area at Bloom since the very first festival in 2006, and has played host to house music of the highest order. DJs to have graced the Lost Disco decks include Justin Robertson, Cagedbaby, Inland Knights, secretsundaze, Faith, Deepgroove, Evil Nine, Radio Slave, Ame and Luke Solomon to name but a few. We will be bringing this area/concept into a club environment for the very first time at this rather special event, which promises to have a proper warehouse / festival feel to it!!
