Hi,

Myself and a friend are complete newbies to Beni - we've been searching for hotels (or any type of acommodation) since the end of December and can't find ANYTHING!!!! Eeek - not sure we want to camp for a week.

Anyone got any top tips, ideas or suggestions?

thanks

type hotels espana into your search engine and go to bookings.com; you will get hotels in Castellon but probably not in Benicassim this late.  Means getting the train through each night and back in the morning.  First train is usually about 8am and takes about 10 mins.  Costs a couple of euros each way.

Have just booked a bungalow at Bonterra Park (1200EUR for 7 nights, sleeps 6 people). In fact, last year there were still reservations available in the hotels in Benicasim the weekend before the festival started! Bear in mind that most places in Benicasim town itself charge extra high rates during the festival, so you generally need to book direct with the hotels (via email/phone rather than online). They also only start taking reservations from January, so now's the best time to be looking.

Some hotels in the area and prices from 2008:

www.hotelecoavenida.com (57EUR/night for a double room, B&B)
www.hotelinturorange.com (stayed here last year, 992 EUR for a double room for 8 nights, B&B - closest hotel to the festival)
www.voramar.net
www.termasmarinas.com
bulevardhotel@hotmail.com (110 EUR/night for a triple room, minimum 7 nights
www.hotelinturazor.com - same price as Intur Orange
www.hotelbosquemar.com
www.hoteltramontana.com (66 EUR/night for a double room)

There's also the Intur Bonaire, which is on the same street as the Intur Orange, and looked a bit nicer. Both are < 5 minute walk to the beach, and 15-20 minute walk to the festival.

Failing that, we stayed in Castellon our in 2007. It's about a 15 minute/10 EUR journey by taxi (or an hour by bus, followed by a half hour hike) to the festival. We didn't have any problems getting back by taxi except for the last night, when there was a queue 200 deep at the taxi rank so we ended up sleeping under a bus stop until the commuter buses started around 7am. A lot of the bands seem to stay in Castellon, but it feels quite detatched the from the rest of the festival, and there's not a lot to do there. That said, it's cheaper than Beni town, and the hotels were a bit nicer.

Try the Hotel Europa in Almanzora. It's around £200 per person for 6 nights and about 10 miles from Beni

Now all we need to do is figure out how to book the trains from the airport!!!x

Accommodation is so expensive. Why is this? Its not fair. I'm allergic to sunlight and I find it disgraceful that people are trying to profit from my disability.

Tried to book the last Chalet at Bonterra after coming to terms with inevitability of paying through the nose but some cheeky bugger beat me to it. Who was it? (said while waving fist in a rather camp, non-threatening manner).

There is still accommodation in Benicassim as my friends have just booked an apartment.
We got ours last week too from the same agency in Benicassim called ###### so there´s not need to go too far,you might not get one within walking distance to the festival site but i´m sure there´s still plenty.

Good luck

Doesn't look like much on Google maps. Perhaps its an old picture and some radical development has taken place since then.

Hi I have stayed in marina dor twice and it is unwalkable from the festival, there was no shuttle bus service 2 years ago so we had to try and grab a taxi from outside with thousands of other people,we got lucky a couple of times but on the last night it was horrific we had to wait 5 hours untill we got one!!!Did anyone get a late night shuttle from there last year??we fancy going again but the only option seems to be stay in Beni itself or camp which aint no picnic when your getting older!!!!
