VCK
Which combination of headliners and 2nd headliners do you think have looked best? I reckon: RATM/QOTSA - 2008 Pumpkins/NIN - 2007 Franz Ferdinand/Kaiser Chiefs - 2006 Linkin Park/Blink 182 - 2003 Foos/Muse - 2002 Oasis/Primal Scream - 2000 Not a massive fan of some of those bands mentioned, but they're all combos of bands with similar fanbases. Whereas the likes of Pixies/Killers, Green Day/50 Cent, The Darkness/The Offspring and Travis/Green Day just look like chalk and cheese. funkymp
Yeah, actually that's another one I forgot. And possibly Metallica/SOAD in 2003.
VCK
In a way, not Main Stage, but Manics/BFMV on the NME stage. Both Welsh bands who have very strong Metal influences and sing songs about depressing subjects. Edited September 25, 2008 by VCK

metallimuse
manson was great, maiden opting to play off the first four albums at a festival that's not their traditional demographic went down like a lead balloon.
VCK
Well I only went on the Foos day that year but apparently there was no Can I Play With Madness = Fail. Edited October 4, 2008 by VCK
Spiral_Low
Smashing Pumpking/Nine Inch Nails last year was very good, as was Iron Maiden/Marilyn Manson back in 2005 and Metallica/System Of A Down in 2003. Pearl Jam/Placebo in 2006 would have been very good as well if Placebo hadn't of had those technical issues, but billing wise yes! This year Metallica/Tenacious D worked well, and RATM/QOTSA would have if QOTSA hadn't have turned a bit rubbish since Nick Oliveri left. VCK
QOTSA were terrible, second biggest dissapointment in the four years I've been going to Leeds fest behind RHCP's poor excuse for a set last year.

VCK
Sorry to bump this topic, but I've read some old prediction posts for 2008 on several forums. Some people predicted this as the top four on one day: Rage Against The Machine Manic Street Preachers Queens Of The Stone Age Weezer What dreams are made of.
