Having been one of the lucky people to find my way into the Bimble Inn for one of the best events of the weekend, I found myself wondering if our favourite Skunk Rockers should be on the main stage, or would it break the magic of seeing them on a small stage? What does everyone else think?

I think Hobo Jones was maybe right when he said the Levs would only let them onto the main stage when they wrote some of their own material. Although, that is kindof the magic to see them cover/murder the classics. Does BD have a no cover band policy for the Main Stage? Last year they were in the Big Top on one of the afternoons.

The Bimble Inn was buzzing!

They did fine opening the Avalon Stage as Glasto this year.

Try them at Sunday lunchtime main stage next year, to put a smile on muddy faces.  :P

Its the only stage they havn't played on so it has to be a must!

They have got to be worth an opening slot on the sunday!

No covers on the maion stage? Nouvelle Vauge would not have appeared if that had been the case.

Theoretically, there is nothing stopping them turning up in front of the main stage before/during/after the other bands and just doing a few acoustic numbers. Would that count as playing the main stage?

I dont agree fully with the Levs response? The Easystar Allstars played on the main stage in 2007 and they are a pure covers band. Their 2 biggest records are a cover of 'Dark side of the moon' and 'OK computer'. The same for Nouvelle Vague (though they do have their own material), although Hobo Jones do have their own material that they played at the Avalon stage at glasto this year.

Anyone who saw them in the little big top in 2007 knows that they are a fantastic live band and that next year, the Levs will have to let them on the main stage.

Don't mean to be a nay-sayer or anything, but isn't their act exactly the same every time they play?  Same jokes word for word, all that crap about stains on trousers... I like the songs but that banter has to change!

Quite possibly but not always. They're hardly likely to change all lines with each gig, but this year's Glasto efforts had quite a lot of new stuff compared to Bearded Theory stuff from 6 weeks earlier. I think.

Nice one - you got tickets yet? Better pull my finger out in case these start selling fast, but £23 all told isn't too bad for 3 fine-but-different bands.
