Erm, you'd better not look at this latest Metcheck update for Ottery then.
Sorry, I really admire you're positivity and optimism, but it's in defiance of all known signals ... there really isn't much scope for positivityat all any more in that link, one of the worst so far. Having said that I'm sceptical that there'll be 30 mm of rain on Sunday night, Metcheck have a bit of track record of downgrading extreme rainfall totals a bit after initially posting them. That's the only grounds for hope.
Friday still looking OKish, and Saturday more drizzly after the morning, than anything serious rainwise.
Batten down the hatches for Sunday night though, and as for sunshine, wave goodbye to it ...., 100% cloud all the way by the look of it.
(I'm not relishing or gloating, as many of you know I HATE rain at festivals, but I hate being taken by surpise by it even more, so we need to anticipate. Anything more benign than the above -- not impossible -- will be an unexpected bonus).

Ignore those stupidly low temperatures though, 12C to 14C is just in no way credible at all. They always undercook them, do Metcheck.

I've just checked metcheck and i don't think it looks that bad. Granted sat and sunday night are predicted rain. But friday looks fine as does sunday day. Today was meant to be heavy pain and It's lush out there. I've packed waterproofs and waterproofed tent and rucksack again and i'll be expecting shitty weather but...I've also packed the Sunnies =)

The weather on Metcheck is now looking a fair bit better
, but Metoffice still not so good
.
Over Bristol is sunny and the barometer just keeps on moving towards high pressure
. Mixed signals
.
Yup, can't see any clouds through the window closest to my cubicle. Maybe they'll pull it all together and the weather will be fine. Of course, there was some pretty heavy rain last night at about midnight so there will be quite a bit of surface dampness to contend with. At least the ground will be soft when we all trip over ourselves.
Anyone got an update from closer to the site?

Metcheck are now predicting 28.3mm of rain on Sunday night! Yup, hold your fingers apart in astonishment. With that sort of rain fall we might as well just all jump in the stream!

Fair dos, we've got shorts at the bottom of our bags as well, and sunblock (HA!) -- but also (in my case) multiple plastic bags (everything in my rucksack is in at least one plastic bag, + I have loads of spares), not just one but two layers of waterproof coat, my waterproof trousers, waterproof socks and well dubbined Goreetex-lined boots, an umbrella also ... and plenty of extra layers cos it's going to be chilly.
No-one will be happier than I though, if all this turns out to be excess precaution!
Best case scenario would be if any significantly heavy rain holds off til about midnight Sunday -- on Metcheck, this is an outside possibility, but not too strong a one IMO.

Lets see if Metcheck's 7.3 mm of rain forecast for this afternoon (for Ottery) comes off or not. I personally think the Exeter area may escape as much as that today, and Friday is looking alright, morning especially.
But to stay dry throughout the weekend would be a minor miracle on the synoptics I've seen, a relentless and strong front approaches for later in the weekend, and from a South West direction too. Maybe not 28mm of rain on Sunday night, but I'll happily buy all and sundry a pint if there isn't any at all ...

Final updates summary from me. The first two of these updates were posted around midday to 12:30 today (Thursday), the third one earlier this morning :
Metcheck for Ottery -- considerably less extreme rainfall for Sunday evening (see my prediction of a downgrade earlier, above!
) but still quite alot.
Lightish rain Friday night, and moderate rain over most of Saturday.
Still pants, but possibly less extreme.
Met Office forecast for the South West -- thinks Friday will be dry, and with less rain on Sunday. Poor for Saturday.
Nertweather general forecast (updated at 11 am) the least optimistic oif all, but reraining the 'dry Friday' theme.
See you on site tomorrow folks (and in Exeter tonight in the case of a few of you).

Just tapped the barometer, and it is still moving towards high pressure (ie good weather). Am getting more and more confident as the hours go by. Just need to check the cows tomorrow, ie lying down or standing up.
Someone mentioned about it being muddy last year? I don't remember it being so, although I might not have been quite with it...
See you all there

We whimped out on Saturday night after bursting the bed on Sat morning, then getting absolutely soaked during the day
Drove home in torrential rain until Pilton where it hadn't rained all day!
Was going to return today but decided to wait until next year
Had a lovely time on Friday though!

Sounds as bad, or worse, than last year. Bad luck.
Here in London has been pushing sunny Friday onwards, gradually becoming overcast and cool each day, but no rain until this evening. I still get surprised how much difference 150 miles makes.

It rained it rained it rained. It rained it rained it rained. But I was too *cough splutter* to notice really apart from finding a damp sleeping bag on Saturday evening.
I did not think the mud was too bad really. Yeah it got everywhere, but I had my trainers for the train home.
Left the site this morning about 7, the cars in the carpark were going nowhere. Saw no sign of the promised tractors.
With mud in our hair, and a song in our hearts.
