I am so far from optimistic right now (and I'm a weather watcher who checks sites far too regularly :P ) that today, I'm censoring any links from this site. (hint : Met Office ... )

But we are still 10 days away, and prospects can change.

How do you think whe weather will go?

Feeling brave?

Met Office 2 week forecast (updated today)

Only those of a strong disposition should click ...

But the usuaul health warning applies : your forecast can go down as well as up, AND -- sometimes! -- up as well as down. Still time to change in the detail -- and that Met Office forecst is UK-general not South West specific.

Still, I'm far from optinmistic. Right now.

Yep, about this time next week we should start to see more reliable "educated guestimates".

I'll prepare for all eventualities as per usual, well, except for snow and a shower of frogs! :P

I've been looking here http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/event_...asp?eventID=725 for a few days and it dont seem too bad but guess I'm just being naively hopeful!

Yes, you're right, that's not too bad (comedy-low temperatures aside! -- but Metcheck always underestimate).

Tne more informative/more detailed Metcheck forecast for Ottery St Mary is reasonable too right now. At least from the Friday onwards, none too good before that ...

A lot less dire than what the geeks/experts/professionals on the Netweather forums, or the Met Office forecasts, are predicting at this stage, but we'll see!

What we're being told this time next week will be the real test though, as Hurrah Brother rightly says ...

accuweather seemed to be most accurate for glastonbury - they are currently predicting a rainy friday, but sunny from then on.

Looking dreadful now! Those dark blue squares of 10mm + rain totals had better disappear!

The only way is up ...........

Calm down William, Metcheck is currently showing less than 2mm per day.

Do you think they do it on purpose to annoy us?

Yeah, true, they DO ... that's the Beautiful Days-specific forecast you're using, but the current Ottery St Mary forecast (more detailed) shows a big downturn in the amount of rain forecast, from before. (There may be a fair bit on Thursday 14th though).

One thing's certain, there'll be fair few more fluctuations -- probably in both directions -- before the festival is on us.

Moderately poor now, but not disastrous. That deluge formerly shown for the Monday has gone.

Not necessarily ....

A recent little glimmer of hope, that will hopefully build up and not be a transient flash in the forecasters' pan.

UK Meteorological Office 14 day forecast (update from a couple of hours ago)

UK Met Office said:

UK Outlook for Tuesday 12 Aug 2008 to Thursday 21 Aug 2008:
From Tuesday onwards next week, conditions look rather unsettled across a large part of the country with showers breaking out and some of these are likely to be locally heavy and thundery. There may also be longer periods of rain at times, especially in the west and south. Some areas will see some brighter interludes however. Breezy with perhaps coastal gales, again most likely in the west and south of the UK. Temperatures are expected to be generally near normal to rather cool for most. There is an increasing chance of some drier and brighter weather towards the end of next week. There is a hint at the moment of the drier and brighter conditions continuing into the following week, especially across the south with perhaps showers in the north.
Updated: 1257 on Thu 7 Aug 2008

So there you go. Remember your forecast can go down as well as up, but you never know!

Next update : next Monday.

Metcheck do not use UK Met Office data, and their Ottery forecast is still looking less good -- bad dark-blue-square level deluges (20mm+!! ) for Thursday, but even so, showing mostly dry-ISH conditions after that. Lets hope the UK Met Office kickstarts a move in the better direction. There's still time ... all the prospects could be different by Monday, upwards or downwards!

Accuweather is looking more promising than it did a few days ago. Has changed its Friday deluge to some cloudy sunshine.

Rain Sunday night though.

Much better on Metcheck now. Dry all day Friday (great stuff will stay dry while we set up). Massive big rain at 6am Sat (like that will wake me after what I inted to consume). Few showers sat (when i'll probably be in a bar/Pussy Parlure/gazebo) and then dry Sunday.

WOW I know can go down a well as up but if I had a choice I'd take this forecast.

If we all believe it will be sunny - it will be.
