Is any one going to the Splendour Festival in Nottingham in July

Yes. Yes I am. Wierd one this - I only noticed it because I happened to be in Nottingham and saw a poster. I live in Leicester, which is not that far away, and had never heard of it. It appears to be half price for Nottingham residents, which is nice of their council, maybe trying to replicate the success of our very own Summer Sundae...

There's virtually nothing on their website apart from what was on the poster, so I have no idea what it's going to be like. The only thing I do know is that there's no camping, which might put even more out of towners off.

Aww, that looks super!  Why didn't I find out about it sooner?!  In fairness, it's the same weekend as Big Chill which doesn't work, but still....great line-up!    Have fun!

it would be nice to go but we do not live in Nottingham and Notingham council are descrinationg people because of thier postcodes.Why should we pay double price.i want them for the same price as everyone else.
It is like Nottingham is keeping madness and the pogues and the fun loving criminals to them selves like they are nottingham bands.I have wrote an angry letter to the Nottinghan councilor about this and i will talk to my MP and contact the national press about this shameful descrimination.

They will tell you that it is Nottingham council tax payers that are funding it and that's why we get preference.

£30 to go and see these bands isn't a great deal really and when you consider what else there is on offer like the comedy stage and loads of local acts, I think it's reasonably priced. That taken into consideration... £15 (the price for city residents) to see these bands is a steal!! I just hope the festival is well patronised. It was great fun last year. It's a shame it's not over two days again, but nevermind. Incidentally, I read that Ash will also be also playing which is another reason to get a ticket and enjoy a friendly festival in a great setting.

Whilst I'm here, I will have one moan about last year... there just weren't enough bars to cater for the 5 or 6 thousand people there. I think there were only 2!! Shocking really!

This is a great festival. An absolutely beautiful setting and a fantastic, friendly family atmosphere.

Looking forward to taking the two kids to this.
Saw Calvin Harris at the Bingley festival and Pet Shop Boys at Latitude last year and both put on really entertaining shows.
