  1. The Green Gathering will be back in its gorgeous location, just 18 miles from Bristol, 3rd-6th August 2017. New website launched today www.greengathering.org.uk with EARLYBIRD TICKETS £85 from Bristol Ticket Shop until they run out. Just a few acts announced so far - its early days - One Eyed God (punk-ska-reggae), BAAB (Swedish folk with a difference), The Antipoet (cabaret-meets-poetry-meets-punk/folk), Banjo Bill Lloyd (Appalachian, Bluegrass, Irish, and Traveller tunes), Creedy (psychedelic folk) and The Wierdstring Band (a whole lot of strings, humour and an 'anarchist ceilidh'). The Green Gathering usually has a good and eclectic selection of bands across intimate and outdoor stages; and a whole lot of other stuff too. More workshops, debates, crafts, and interesting stuff to engage with than most festivals except the real biggies like Glastonbury... all in a 5000-person festival that's easy to get around and about as friendly and laid back as anyone could hope for. With reasonably priced bars, really good food, loads for families to do, spacious campsites... it's good.
  2. STSA is held at Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre (Also Known as Hatfield Marina and Hatfield Water Park). The venue is ideally situated just off of the M180, it is close to local amenities, is perfect for disabled visitors and families and has a host of onsite activities and facilities. Being a campsite all year round, there is on site, a large toilet and shower block and water access points across the site. Also on site are, a selection of climbing walls, an aerial assault course, a smaller assault course at ground level and also a children's park. The water itself will be closed off throughout the weekend for safety reasons. Car Parking will be situated in a field next to the park, so only a short walk with your gear to get pitched up. The car park and camping will be open from 10am on Friday the 2nd June, with the main arena opening at 12pm, music starting from 2pm. Our new 'Twin Stage' shall have over 30 bands playing across the weekend and the 'Hidden Stage' will be host to some more FANTASTIC acts, as well as open mic/busking times. 2017 will also see more workshops and hands on activities for all ages, plus street performers for added entertainment. After being nominated AND shortlisted for the 'Best Family Festival' at the UK Festival Awards last year we are keen to live upto and grow that reputation. For a full line up, please visit our website or find us on facebook to be kept up to date.

  5. Hi, does anyone have experience of camping with kids outside of family camping? We've only ever been in family before but this year want to camp with friends who don't have kids. Our son is four. Worried about things being too hectic for him at night, and him being too hectic for others in the mornings. Anyone got any advice? We've always been in Cockmill, and wondered about the top of Big Ground, but that's just because we know it really, we have no real experience of the rest of the site for camping. Thanksx
  6. Does anyone have experience of doing Bestival with a baby or young kids? We're expecting our first child in the next couple of months and are hoping for a bit of reassurance that coming with a baby is a possibility!? If you have recommendations, tips or just words of encouragement it would be greatly appreciated! Cheers! Joe.
