  1. Me too. I'm travelling up from South Wales for that show and we fancied a few days in Manchester. We probably can't make a reschedule if they move it a week or so later.
  2. Fair! Just assumed they had sold out because they added more and more dates to the original run.
  3. Whilst I agree they are crazy prices - they aren't really much different to similarly themed The Killers tour; which has sold out across the board. I'd expect at least one additional date at Brixton.
  4. Would be interested to know where you've seen this too. Wasn't Malahide only about €70? I'd set my limit at £85 for this show - £112 is way too much.
  5. Haha, yeah. For concerts it feels like a total waste of potential. So many small arena/large theatre/apollo size bands could play it, but promotors seem to avoiding it. I've been to three shows there; one comedian, the snooker shootout and the other was Zimmer vs. Williams. All very good and versitile in terms of the space, but shows that music seems to be low on the agenda. Most of the upcoming gigs for the the next year are simply embarrassing! I still think it should have been built outside of the City Centre - possibly by Felindre and made to be around 10k so large artists could play it & The CIA.
  6. Agree. I feel like the new Swansea Arena would be the perfect size for a tour like this? And would be far enough from Wolves/London.
  7. Most "big names" play for a lot longer than an hour. Even if I enjoyed it i'd feel ripped off. My favourite band is The Cure who almost always play 2h 30+. I'd be appalled if they charged £75 just to play a new album with 50 minutes of material. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
  8. Each to their own but think it's a terribly middle of the road lineup for bigger acts. Last years was much better.
  9. Of course the large bands can throw their weight around - it has to start from the top otherwise it can't work. That's why it's disappointing to see the likes of Pearl Jam, The Killers, Smashing Pumpkins, AC/DC etc allow themselves to be taken in by sh*tty practices. Agreed, but bands can still opt out of dynamic pricing or to negotiate lower fees/ face-value prices. I guess it's difficult when a lot of these more premium prices end up selling out though.
  10. It was more than the fact The Cure were vigilent about it. They had gone out from the start to ensure tickets were (more) affordable. It only kicked off because TM were fleecing the cheap tickets with ridiculous fees. They had already set ticket prices extremely low for a band of their stature. Tickets were as cheap as $20 for many of their Arena shows, with the most costly being around $120 - disabled dynamic pricing & barely any price banding. Even their UK Arena tour in 2022 averaged out about £50 a ticket; which was a lot cheaper than Depeche Mode's current arena tour.
  11. As scummy as Ticketmaster are artists DO have a choice to use different platforms or disable dynamic pricing if they stick with TM. Most of them seem perfectly happy to fall into line. God bless Robert Smith's efforts last year; The Cure effectively proved that much of this is in artists hands, but it seems you can't stop greed by some artists. I've drawn my line at £100 - I don't care who the act is or how special the show is. It's not worth it when I could see two medium size bands or grab a day ticket at a festival for less and have an equally good experience.

    Upcoming Gigs.

Got quite a few between now and August: Bombay Bicycle Club Feeder Echo & The Bunnymen Simple Minds/Del Amitri Keane The Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican Placebo Poole Harbour Festival. Might book another festival like Wychwood, or day tickets at Victorious.
  13. The point is that the bookers still booked them; no-one important batted an eyelid & if they did then they were likely ignored. The points made by anyone on here is irrelevant when a band is already booked to play.
  14. Them playing Glastonbury or not is kinda besides the point; even if this the Glastonbury chat forum. I don't think anyone has even suggested they would headline. Back to the point, with bookers in Europe & Ireland obviously having enough confidence in AF to book them for large shows I suspect we'll see them at APE, maybe Crystal Palace Park or Finsbury.
  15. That's irrelevant; they were still booked to headline the bloody festival. 😅 Has the festival had questions about it's reputation due to that booking, as people suggested it would if Arcade Fire were to be booked now?
