  1. Interestingly I was told by the lady from Track+Trace over the phone yesterday that it was not a legal requirement to isolate, but a strong recommendation.
  2. "and cases numbers continue to rise"
  3. Anyway, the point is case numbers are currently high and growing fast, so I do think we all still have a moral responsibility to wear face coverings indoors. I wore a mask indoors before the government told me to. I stopped arsing around with sanitiser before the told me to. Government guidance should mean precisely fuck all. Do the right thing, sorry if that sounds like virtue signalling just because it's a discussion on what is right.
  4. The point is, she was double jabbed. Yet still caught COVID. If everyone is double vaccinated and cases numbers continue to rise, then we need to continue with NPIs.
  5. It's not that simple. I'm currently isolating because of contact with someone who was double jabbed and still tested positive for covid.
  6. I mean... Yeah. In that situation you're clearly adding to someone else's risk because you can't be arsed. You might not want them to die, but you're not prepared to stick a bit of cloth on your face for a minute to reduce the chance of their death.
  7. Don't confuse the government caving with the idea that masks don't help prevent other people getting ill. As long as cases are high and/or rising, I'll be wearing a mask indoors.
  8. Even with case numbers high and with the knowledge that it's possible to be infectious before you know you have covid? What do you think masks are for? They're not for you.
  9. Which bit of what she said is wrong? Masks have always been about protecting other people.
  10. Another thing I hadn't thought about slowing vaccinations down is COVID itself. My 18 year old nephew was booked in to get vaccinated last week, but got the virus, so has been unable to get jabbed, hoping to have it next week.
  11. The Chemical Brothers 500 lggy & The Stooges 70 (-10) The Prodigy 682 LCD Soundsystem 473
  12. Have you ever stopped to consider that the last delay was based on sound scientific reasons and the reason policy matched her requests was because she was right, not because she pressured the government?
  13. Fucks' sake, pointing that we currently have exponential growth of cases that are currently high is not a good situation to loosen restrictions is a reasonable position. Saying that although cases are high and rising, the link between hospitalisations is much weaker and weakening, is a reasonable position. Can we please have a little less hysteria?
  14. I'm pretty sure that's not gaslighting.
  15. It's the key clause "as long as case rates are high" you seem to be ignoring. Do you not agree that case rates are high and getting exponentially higher? Wanting to stop us having very high prevalence of this virus is not being a nutter.
  16. Doesn't matter anymore. You can just catch it all over again these days apparently.
  17. Roughly half accelerated, half decelerated. Hopefully this is the start of a turnaround? I'm not holding my breath though:
  18. Shit the lid, I'll be there!
  19. Are you familiar with the legal definition of assault? It most definitely was assault. https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/offences-against-person-incorporating-charging-standard#:~:text=An assault is any act, unlawful force to another person.
  20. 😆😆😆 As I suspected. There are plenty of musicians in front of the stage, albeit mostly not as successful as the ones behind! I think you're probably right, he'd go down a right storm with all the W Holts musos!
  21. This young man is extraordinary. For pure musicianship, he puts the likes of Prince in the shade. Multiple Grammy award winner, he's done things in music that have literally never been done before - using microtonal theory to change key by and tuning system in a way that sounds more in tune than normal harmonies. It's all very complicated and I don't understand it. This cover of All Night Long has about a section beginning at about 4:25 that does quite incredible things to the ears. And this seemingly improvised cover of Fix You, whilst it has a slightly meandering section takes the Coldplay song through multiple keys in a way that strengthens the emotional message of the song (song starts 1 minute in). It's quite beautiful. Finally, this livestreamed duet with Chris Martin where Martin has to stop the song and make a comparison to Amadeus. Never mind the fact that he could continue playing piano over the internet and not get distracted by Chris Martin seemingly being out of time - he just adjusted for the latency in his head and could still play in time. A combination of extreme talent, hard work and being taught music from an early age by his musician family. So, despite all this, sometimes the music isn't all that great to listen to, despite it bursting with innovation and talent. But no doubt, the man is crazy, crazy talented. Could he play Glastonbury? And if so, where?
  22. Any chance we can have these back? They went went you last disabled the upvotes due to all the complaining.

Cider has been coming up on other threads as regularly as Radiohead used to before we got it out of our system, so I want a dedicated thread for cider. 24. https://www.thegrocer.co.uk/property-and-planning/co-op-to-open-pop-up-shop-at-glastonbury-festival/591501.article This sounds like the most in your face corporate presence in years. Thoughts?
