  1. Sunday 18th August is the date shown above
  2. As far as I can tell almost a year away from the event the cheapest day ticket is £71.50 and the cheapest weekend ticket is £ 194.40 inclusive of fees. I appreciate they were cheaper for a week after the event but many people won’t book until they know at least some of the line up as the weekend clashes with other major festivals. Not everyone lives locally I’m afraid so transport and/or accommodation costs have to be taken into account. I still like this Festival as in general it caters for my taste but it is a long way away from being the cheap Festival it was not too long ago.
  3. I would have to go to this…
  4. Didn’t go this year as line up didn’t suit for the money I’d have to spend - ticket, VIP (I’m old and unfit!) and accommodation but it’s pleasing to hear that many of the gripes had been addressed. Must say £7+ for a pint seems scary though. I’ll see what they come up with. Maybe they could splash out on The Killers with perhaps Fontaines DC as a more contemporary headliner. Would like to see Blondie and The Pretenders as a couple of legendary bands fronted by women although think they are probably sub/3rd on the bill level.
  5. Plays updated now. No luck. Relying on one ballot entry. Not too hopeful but never mind…
  6. My plays not updated yet. Will look again tomorrow. Site seems a bit of a shitshow tbh.
  7. I was going to post something similar. Shame to find out about it after the comp had finished. Thought as a forum we were better than that…. If anyone has Sky VIP they are still running comps for the final three days.
  8. Thanks for this used your link. Didn’t win tickets for The Strokes but got a ballot entry. Guess it depends if they need to get rid of any nearer the time.
  9. Dermot Kennedy 4th down on the Other Stage at Glastonbury…Reckon that’ll turn into a pay what you like day.
  10. See The Weeknd is playing Wembley the Friday and Saturday. Wonder if he’ll turn up for a couple of tunes.
  11. Anyone got any idea who the supports for LDR are?
  12. I didn’t put headline bands. I went for Placebo, Interpol and BRMC. Two of those are American so probably unlikely but I tried to pick bands I like that haven’t played it yet (I think).
  13. Just received an email asking me which three bands I’d like to see in 2024 and also whether I’m going this year/top band on this year’s line up. Perhaps sales not going as well as hoped?
  14. Agreed. Back in 2016 I saw LCD Soundsystem play Victoria Park and Jungle were main support then, which I thought was a bit of a stretch. I must confess it’s not really my type of music but surely a headline slot here would be an absolute catastrophe?
  15. I think the original plan was Noel Gallagher. There was clearly a bit of confusion over his Irish date perhaps Victorious thought they had him but they didn’t. Zero chance of Pulp. They are playing Festival Republic festivals this year so no way they’d be allowed to play a Superstruct one. Florence is possible but I think she’s most likely to play APE. Jamie T is a possible but that would be so underwhelming and I’m a fan. The 1975 would be a good grab for them but I think the most likely answer is The Prodigy. They’re an act known to the Festival, are about and are available. Delay in announcing maybe something to do with having to let the Essex Festival announce first.
  16. I’ve swerved it this year too having been the last four years it’s happened. I don’t think the line-up is bad but it’s just not as much to my personal preference as previous years. I’m not local so always have to find accommodation and as I’m not the fittest have always gone for VIP. This year that lot would have cost me over £500 before I’ve bought a beer. I treat it as my Holiday so that’s ok but Jamiroquai, the new “Kasabian” and TBC plus the stuff announced just doesn’t make it value. Don’t laugh but I’ve gone for Stone Valley South an old school punk/mod/indie/ska mash-up that I can train in and out of each day with a saving of £350!
  17. Get your point but I’m sure there will be at least one support.
  18. Are Belle & Sebastian in there somewhere? Being Scottish etc…
  19. Florence could headline the Sunday. She’s in Paris on the Saturday. More likely to turn up at All Points East though.
  20. Probably just my preferences but it feels so weak this year. It’ll be interesting to see how it goes. Strokes/YYY for me at APE and hoping they add a decent day or two around it.
  21. Hearing Suede are playing this.
  22. Idles only UK show of the year apparently.
  23. Looking grim for me. Not a massive fan of what’s been announced and the Kendal line up just looks dull. Admittedly, I’ve not seen the Tom-less Kasabian but I’m surprised they can still hold headline spots at solid mid-size Festivals. Hoping they can pull something out of the bag but it’s looking more likely I’ll be at APE for The Strokes and AN Other.
