  1. Bearded Theory 2018

Dates have been announced and tix on sale 9th September. Thought I'd get the ball rolling on this one. My suggestion of Manu Chao hasn't gone unnoticed by the organisers
  2. Things that ur happy about

Ok so I'm feeling very sentimental and there seems to be alot of hate and annoyance on this page- mainly because it's winter and everyone complans but I thought it would be a good idea to have a Happyness Pie sort of friend for those happy thoughts we have each day. It's good to rant every now an then but sometimes you just gotta smile! So what are you currently happy about at the moment? For me, I'm loving my college course I've got friends who respect me for who I am not what I look like I got a day off college tommorow Erm I can't think of anything else. Now it's your turn
  3. Prime/Netflix me

Black Mirror - dark anthology series based around technology, directed by Charlie Brooker. Think of it as a modern day version of The Twilight Zone.
  4. 2017 New Music Thread

Hope Neil doesn't mind me doing this. It is new music but feel free to take it down if it's not ok. One of my tracks got played on BBC 6 Music this weekend. 1:25 minutes in, Pink Eye Club, Middle Class White Kid: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09hw4xb
  5. Gorillaz

Saw them at The O2 on Monday and it was a basically a ginormous party. They played ALOT from Plastic Beach & Demon Days but it worked really well. Not really fussed about who else plays after that massive announcement. Anything else is a bonus, I'll just spend most of my time walking about trying to find sweaty raves behind doors.
  6. Boomtown 2018

    Whooa. Didn't see that coming.
  7. Boomtown 2018

Would be absolutely made up if it were Manu Chao. He pulled off a blinder at Glastonbury '08. If there's anyone on here who hasn't listened to his live albums particularly, do it! He brings some serious energy.
  8. West Holts 2019

West Holts smashed it out of the park this year. Incredible performances by most of the bands who have played. The real question is, how can they top it in 2019? Jay Kay and the lads are definitely in for a shout, Chaka Khan is a dead cert for a Saturday night party. Ed O'Brian is pals with Trey Anastasio from Phish - maybe he could convince Trey that headlining WH would be a fabulous idea. Will they finally have enough dolla to book Santana? Lets chuck some ideas around here. But please, for the love of god, don't suggest Noel Ghallagar.
  9. Went for a wander round Worthy Farm

As the title suggests, this weekend I went to the Glastonbury site when it wasn't on with a group of people who I camp with. Here are some photos, see if you can guess which areas they are as I can't be bothered to caption then
  10. Bearded Theory 2018

Electro Swing has got to be one of the worst genres of all time.
  11. Boomtown 2018

I brought a ticket to this as well. No idea what to expect other than a few vids on youtube and people hyping it up to me. Haven't been this excited about trying a festival since I first got tickets to Glastonbury 2008
  12. Bearded Theory 2018

Very very impressed, I dread to think what clashes there will be when the Magical Sounds & Convoy Cabaret gets released.
  13. Went for a wander round Worthy Farm

@TheParkAfterDark @GlastoEls covered all my questions but if you're looking for a decent place to stay over night, couldn't recommend Ashcombe Farm Campsite enough. It's a stones throw away from the site and there's a country pub called The Apple Tree Inn which is literally just over the road. Decent food in there and quite cheap for drinks. The cows were in Stone Circle when we wondered up there so unfortunately couldn't get into that field. Will upload a few more pics tomorrow when I've fully recovered from this weekend.
  14. West Holts 2019

Afrikan Boy deserves the highest slot possible on WH for this banger:
  15. Equinox Festival - Anybody been?

Thanks a lot for this Yog. Answered all my questions and then some. Sounds like a lovely little festival - don't really mind that the stages shut at 2am, I'm not that much of a late night partier at Glasto but as long as I have a couple of hours after the main bands have finished then I'm happy. I'm thinking I'm going to to Bearded, Boomtown then this one. Me & my mates are also planning on doing an all inclusive holiday somewhere in Spain when Glastonbury is usually on (I know it sounds horrendously tacky but a week slobbing about in the sun with beers will be great). Have you ever thought about going to Bearded Theory? It's a great festival, sounds like it a has a similar vibe to Equinox in the sense that it's very laid back and cheap. In fact they do a payment plan, meaning that you pay £40.00 now then £20.00 in monthly instalments next year.
  16. Equinox Festival - Anybody been?

Can peeps attending give a review of this festival when they get back? I've been eyeing this fest up for a while now and frequently watch the Guy Berresford footage from when it used to be Alchemy on YouTube. Some great shots there and it looks like a good little festival and right up my alley. I'm thinking next year I'll be at Bearded, then a medium size festival in August and then another smaller one at the end of Sept. (either Equinox or SEITD) I'm particularly keen to find out how the new site is and whether stages are closing a bit later - I know that was a problem in the past.
  17. Liam Fray slams classist snobs who criticise northern fans

Any bloke who can make a vid as good as this gets a thumbs up from me:
  18. 2019 Headliners

Imagine The Prodigy subbing The 1975. #contrast
  19. Liam Fray slams classist snobs who criticise northern fans

Would love to see a Fantano stink piece on that article.
  20. Electronica/Dance

Bit of a random one this. I have a potential gig coming up with my new project, Healthy Boy and it's going to be at The Windmill, Brixton on October 22nd. It's influenced by Suicide, ADULT., Soft Cell, Depeche Mode, The Human League. Sorta dark, synth based post-punk type stuff. I'm currently on the look out for any London Based people who are good with synthesizers and electronic equipment who would be interested in playing in a group with me. The Windmill is a pretty decent venue and it'll be quite a big deal if I get my first gig there. So if you are interested, or are friends with anyone who might be interested then please let me know. If you want I can bung up a shit demo I uploaded to SoundCloud.
  21. Pop Music

As far as pop songs go - it doesn't get much finer than this
  22. 2017 New Music Thread

Loving this right about now. Sorely tempted to get tickets to their Camden Scala show based on the strength of this track.
  23. Acts you don't "get"

There's a band that keeps on appearing on my Facebook newsfeed called Cigarettes After Sex. It looks and sounds they have perfected the edgy, reverb drenched indie rock style and it annoys the piss out of me. More to do with style then actually writing decent tunes.
  24. Things that ur happy about

Tell him/her they're in for a treat. I could quite happily live over there. Only thing holding me back is that it'd make Glastonbury twice as expensive
  25. Bearded Theory 2018

Brought tix through the eFests link. Slept in so missed out on early bird.
