  1. only even vaguely possible ones I can see are Lenny Kravitz Bob Dylan Van Morrison might have to get rid of the cringey flashmob dances tbf
  2. Again, hardly. Loads of people wouldn't be bothered paying the high ticket prices for their own gig, but would gladly see them at a festival. Just like Elton, who plays literally every little stadium and arena all over the UK. But there's still be loads of people at Glastonbury who haven't seen him (and many on this forum), who will be going along to catch him.
  3. Probably more songs than the general public knew of Metallica, another big 80s/90s rock act that are critically irrelevant these days, and little more than a nostalgia act. (I assume the comparison with Metallica has been made in the 12 more pages I've to read to catch up)
  4. What sites? BandInTown, Songkick, etc are notoriously unreliable.
  5. Charli XCX miming her way through songs on the TV so have stuck on the Bicep set. Probably would have chosen them for a headliner if i was there.
  6. This is the best I've seen him since 2013 just after Good Kid Maad City came out. Seen him a few times on the TPAB/Damn tours and he wasn't great.
  7. Tiny crowd though. Never heard of her either, so amazed she's that high up WH.
  8. I think this is exactly right. Was at PS too and a lot of the crowd issues were down to bad scheduling and not spreading the crowd out enough. Sounds like similar issues at Glastonbury. Sugababes, TLC etc, novelty acts with minimal competition are always going to draw enormous crowds. Like Shaggy a few years ago. Sugababes had no-one on the 3 biggest stages at the same time, and I doubt there's much crossover with TJAMC/Khruangbin fanbases. TLC didn't really have much competition either, Supergrass/Sigrid/last half of Wolf Alice. You can't put on acts like that and not expect enormous crowds, Glastonbury should have strong counter-programming to avoid that. Thursdays at WG, Stonebridge and a few other spots are the same issue really, not enough on elsewhere to spread crowds, but at least people are still in exploring mode that day. As mentioned earlier, Calvin Harris tonight at Arcadia, an hour after the main stages finish, will be an absolute mess.
  9. Great, another thread RCB has turned into a whinge about white men with guitars. Someone must have mentioned a Gallagher a few hours ago to set him off. Anyway Eilish seems fairly shite, Little Simz is excellent based on the last 20mins.
  10. "forbid" because PS have increased the amount of people at the festival, and so would be using the bridge. VIPs, people with disabilities, staff etc are still using it, so the "new harbour owner forbid PS from using it" line from Gabi is at least partially untrue. I'm sure if it was a smaller festival, as it used to be, the bridge would still be in use for all. I'd be far more confident that the real reason is Health & Safety assessments determined that the crowd sizes will be too big.
  11. The National setlist from Paris tonight: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-national/2022/salle-pleyel-paris-france-53b4a7d5.html a few slight changes from Pamplona, I prefer tonight's one I think.
  12. Still no update on if Girl In Red is playing?
  13. Any recommendations for techno names/any "harder" stuff @bennyhana22 ? Either Block9 or anywhere else. Unfortunately not going this year myself, but a few friends going and looking for hard/industrial type stuff! Giant Swan would be a definite!
  14. Would be so happy if for some bizarre reason Warpaint and The National moved around and weren't clashing, the two acts I want to see most! Was considering a 4hr round trip drive to Belfast to see The National on the Tuesday after PS, and catching Warpaint at PS, but that setlist above would make me want to definitely see The National at Primavera 😂
  15. It's certainly a possibility. I'd imagine though that if that was potentially what they were going to do, the rest of the bands/crew/etc would travel on their own before that, and just the people that needed to fly last minute by private jet would do that on their own. Chartering a private jet isn't *that* expensive (i think i read 30k from NYC to London before?), but it probably depends on where it needs to collect people from. They could fly from the US on Friday morning and be in Barcelona on Friday evening. I'd imagine it comes down to: a) if the band member is morally comfortable with coming/mixing with others. A positive test now might not be clear for several days, and a negative antigen doesn't mean someone doesn't have covid, hence the advice to wait a number of days after the onset of symptoms. (Although that is only advice so legally I think they could probably play if they wanted to?) b) what exactly the requirements are out of the US into the EU, and when exactly the people tested positive/now test negative.
  16. The National setlist tonight, 3 new songs: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-national/2022/baluarte-pamplona-spain-33b4b0a9.html Would be very happy with that on Friday.
  17. This "crowd management" thing is often repeated, but is clearly nonsense. There's loads of acts where there's no-one similar scheduled to clash with them to "control crowds". Tame Impala will probably be one of the biggest draws of the weekend, and there's basically no-one of note scheduled against them to realistically draw crowds away Not many Tame Impala fans are going to choose YLT or Cigarettes after Sex instead. Similarly Charli XCX's only real competition is Sharon Van Etten. Lorde is basically only clashing with Giveon and The Murder Capital.... There's plenty of examples of big acts not having much competition, and certainly no-one similar that's going to split the fanbase. There's certainly examples of it happening too, but I'm pretty sure that's simply just down to have a number of big acts who have to play around "peak time", and so there has to be clashes....
  18. People were mentioning LCD Soundsystem or Arcade Fire as possible replacements, but I really can't see that happening. LCD's first gigs of the year are a run in London at the end of June, doubt they'll haul everyone/thing over to Spain several weeks before that for a once off. Arcade Fire aren't touring again until the end of the summer, so highly unlikely to come to PS for a gig. I'd say someone from W2 playing is far more likely. Phoenix, Interpol, YYYs etc. Or someone like Foals, who are starting their festival dates in Poland on the Saturday, so should be able to play in Spain on Friday, assuming some agreement could be reached with Mad Cool if there's radius clauses... More likely though, no-one. Several cancellations already with no replacements, including several of the larger Cituat gigs that just disappeared (and only acknowledged by PS when peple asked them on twitter etc). Probably just move Jamie XX into the Strokes slot and leave it at that.
  19. Deleting social media doesn't delete everything they've done previously. There is no mention of this act anywhere on the internet prior to 2 months ago (and even then it's just a fake wikipedia entry). There's no record of the albums they've supposedly released over the last 7 years. There's no record of the single concert we know of, from 2019 supposedly, which is almost certainly faked by the new (and since deleted) wikipedia account that created their wikipedia entry 6 weeks ago, let alone any other concert. There's no record of anyone with that name and the moniker Quimera https://www.google.com/search?q=Salvador+Rodríguez+quimera yet someone knows all about their life and birthplace and DOB and family and background to put a supposedly real bio on wikipedia. Nowhere else on the internet seems to have any of this information. 30k on tiktok and instagram isn't a "heavy audience" either, especially when the posts on instagram at least have almost no engagement. Almost certainly just bot farm followers that have been purchased. Even if they had kept their social media accounts deleted, there would be genuine mentions, photos and records of this artist in other outlets. There are none. It is 100% not a real artist.
  20. there is no such artist/releases on Discogs, or any of the other release cataloging sites i've checked, and google returns basically nothing for "quimera angel in the dark", so this is 100% not a real artist IMO, and definitely some ruse. e: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:FkcT4CuRfJUJ:https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quimera_(cantante)+&cd=17&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ie&client=firefox-b-d https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Quimeradirecto.jpg Description Español: Quimera en la sala Razzmatazz en 2019 Date 20 May 2021 Source Own work Author Celiakcongluten Can't find any mention of any such artist at Razzmatazz either. User account that uploaded the photo only registered 6 weeks ago too: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth?target=Celiakcongluten
  21. Kacey Musgraves and Girl in Red are overlapping by 5mins on the Mordor side-by-side stages..... Guessing GiR will have the last 10mins of her set chopped off.
  22. I know there's always going to be clashes, but there seems to be some really poor scheduling for acts of the same styles that would have the exact same fanbases.
