Slowdive at 5pm Sunday is a must-see. Saw them at Primavera a few years ago and it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Managing to see them earlier in the day, with much less chance of clashes, is a no-brainer
  2. I mean, "not EDM" is subjective, but to me, it's basically Swedish House Mafia with added weepy piano, and a few extra pop remixes.... https://archive.org/details/20230424_20230424_2005 Set and transitions are sloppy as fuck. It's all over the place, and not in a good way. Barely a step above someone playing random shit on their ipod at a party. Fred BR or a regular Four Tet DJ set are infinitely better.
  3. It hasn't evolved a huge amount in the last 10 years, and don't see it evolving much in the next 10. A few things freshened up here and there, but as long as it keeps its main core the same, then I think it will be fine. If it starts trying to actively change things, then it could ruin what makes it popular Eg. trying to actively court a much younger demographic, when its core at present, and for a long time has been 30-50 year olds, and risks alienating that core customer base, while rapidly changing the demographics attending, which may continue sell-outs in the short-term, but puts it in a precarious position if it's basically relying on a "hot" lineup every year to sell out, to a customer base that is least likely to have large amounts of disposable income and more adversely affected by broader economic shifts.
  4. Nah, they could have just put out the poster with a second line of LDR, Wizkid and Cat Stevens if that was the case. They obviously just wanted to put out a poster with the headliners (plus bumped up Lizzo to fend of criticism of the all-male, mostly white headliners), and then the rest in alphabetical order. Then LDR acted like an arsehole, and they've decided to stick the so far announced Other headliners and other Pyramid sub onto the next line, along with Stevens, now that they're doing an updated poster with the WH acts.
  5. The only new acts on the second version are the newly announced WH acts. They weren't just going to slip QOTSA in there. If they're playing, they'll likely be announced with the many other acts that are still TBA for the other stages/Other Stage.
  6. Link? also looking for this @FloorFiller
  7. The ones I posted aren't a Spurs forum, but is a football-based one. By "the same person" do you mean "bobby.james" posting on both the Spurs forum and the one I screenshotted? If so, then yeah, I'd imagine it's Other. If not, then I don't know what/where someone have said they're playing Other, or what their track record is, so i'd be leaning towards WH as it's coming from a fairly solid source.
  8. It's a joke, based on this:
  9. Wizkid is confirmed as headlining the Other Stage, as per the Guardian article.
  10. He said in a later message that the James Blake info was wrong. The other two were confirmed today though obviously.
  11. Well, the person who said it several weeks ago on another forum, has had several of their calls confirmed by today's announcement/Guardian article, see the dates when posted. I mentioned the Blondie/Cat Stevens thing here at the time:
  12. Hot Chip are headlining the JP/Woodsies on Friday night. Central Cee is playing the Other Stage. e: Fred Again and Chvrches are playing WH.
  13. QOTSA have been removed from the Guardian list now.
  14. Someone on another forum I'm on says that Cat Stevens and Blondie are playing. They thought that Blondie would be Sunday teatime, but I'd imagine it's Cat Stevens if it's between those two....
  15. Hardly totally different. Both are producers making commercial/mainstream pop-house music, primarily build around vocals, with occasionally cheesey elements. Harris has leant into the cheese/pop side of it a lot more as he's gotten much bigger, and working with superstars, but Fred isn't far off. Main difference is that Fred's vocals are overwhelmingly samples, whereas Calvin's were purpose written/recorded.
  16. Several who have done the slot have about 3 songs that the average Joe could name. ELO had one.

  18. GNR released 2 singles last year. I assume they're dogshit, but so is basically everything released by those acts in the last 20+ years. I assume. I haven't listened to them. Like 99% of people who know songs by them. People just want the hits. No-one gives a fuck about new material. And GNR have plenty of hits.
  19. There's a difference between being disappointed that they didn't do a greatest hits set, and "fucking up". It was a good set, most fans know they can be much better though, so were a little disappointed that they didn't completely smash it. People who didn't know them didn't know any different, and seemed to enjoy it mostly. It was a good performance.
  20. well that's what you appear to have said: It's hard to know though, given that you're so full of shit these days, and often don't give a straight, coherent answer.
  21. And Neil, who thinks his source for FF/U2 is more solid than GnR: its with a more-proven source than gnr is. i think one of them is more likely to be a gnr replacement, after glasto realised how bad it is.
  22. A few decent names, a few of the usual suspects. A lot of shite. Probably the worst Coachella lineup I've seen.
