"Icon Slot"?

The headliners all deserve to be up there, to a greater or lesser extent. Its the other bookings that really tank it - Gossip, London Grammar, James Blake, Disclosure, Sleaford Mods. Combined with a lack of other eye-catching names (Stevie Nicks, Pulp, Chaka Khan, Prodigy, etc)

Wiki's wrong. Pulp headlined the main stage (albeit not the Pyramid, which hadn't returned by that point) https://www.vam.ac.uk/performing-glastonbury/1998/ -

Babies is probably their best tune, even if after all these years still haven't figured out the plot or how you can possibly hide in someone else's wardrobe. -

Not if you were around at the time, but definitely heard it said by younger users that they've got Common People in their quiver and that's it. -

Before they launched this round of comeback I'd have said yes, particularly due to their history with the festival. Now, seeing the level of other shows they're doing and the persistent view that they're something of a one hit wonder, no. -
George Egg and Craig Charles have both just self-confirmed Latter on Truth Stage Friday afternoon as per.

Listening to Coldplay's tour setlist and its hella frontloaded. -
With their songs like U16 Girls

In Kill Bill SZA is clearly fantasising about committing some sort of crime, but ultimately the lyrics are self-critical and are more about her inability to move on from a previous love than they are an exhortation for violence. However, in Bohemian Rhapsody Freddie Mercury confesses to murder, even going so far as to outline the approach and the weapon he used. In a just society he should have done time and never have been free to potentially kill again.

Based on what's happening with his O2 run I don't think we can continue to leave Usher off the list of possible future headliners.
-
She sold out Hyde Park very quickly though right? Suspect these will also go like hotcakes.
-
I guess she'd have been on the poster if they'd managed to bag her.... but there's still a window of opportunity there.
-
Stevie Nicks has just announced shows in Glasgow and Manchester in the days between Glastonbury and BST. Close bit no cigar.

Prof Janina Ramirez just confirmed herself for the University of Glastonbury at the Crow's Nest

Sounding increasingly like I might be seeing Coldplay for the first time in 20 years..... -
If anything Kill Bill doesn't go far enough. For example, she could sing about nailing her ex's goolies to the wall.

They should have pulled the plug when Elton started promoting street violence with Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting
-
Doubt it after Astroworld tbh. Can't imagine they'd want to run the risk.
-
I watched her perform it at the Grammys and she actually seemed to cut a man's throat and then throw him sky high in the air. Then all ninjas came on and started sword-fighting one another. I'm really not sure if this is the sort of thing that Glastonbury should be encouraging.
-
Reckon Trav might come out with SZA.
-
I've been listening to some Shania. Even the less familiar material is big chorus, hook-filled party music. She'll entertain people.
-
A couple of wet years and underwhelming line-ups and the guaranteed instant sell-out will start to look a bit wobbly. A lot of folk take it for granted that it'll never stop, but I bet the festival themselves aren't so complacent.
-
Cyndi's played before and I didn't hear much about her drawing an out of the ordinary crowd. Given the over-familiarity of the rest of the line up, a genuinely rare UK festival booking like Shania will result in a rammo field. Not that Lauper will struggle for numbers either tbh.
