Fantastic Donovan-esque rare as hen's teeth psysh-pop banger.
  2. Elton John

What was true last year doesn't hold for this year. It's a no brainer that this being his farewell will increase demand. It wouldn't surprise me if he actually does play Wembley or Hyde Park towards the end of the run.
  3. Elton John

I think it's safe to say that the current Dwight live experience is better than the Paul Young Show (any excuse)
  4. Elton John

Just googled the Davos thing - seems he was there picking up a human rights award for his AIDS foundation. If he also did a gig while there there's not much about it online. As for the tantrums, I'd imagine most people couldn't give a fiddlers whether or not he's a diva. We're not all avid Hello magazine readers like the Russ-ster.
  5. Elton John

    It's missing this
  6. Elton John

He could bring Limbaugh onstage with him and it'd still be more palatable than the Foo Fighters covering Queen.
  7. Elton John

I assume his top range has gone, but it's probably still servicable. My wife saw him 18 months back (over Glastonbury weekend as it happens) and said he sounded pretty good.
  8. Elton John

I've narrowed it down to one of these three contenders:
  9. Talking Heads

Colin Baker wishes he still had the lustrous locks of Chris Frantz.
  10. Most 'overbooked' headliner

Moby's an anomaly cos he doesn't have a well loved catalogue or a consistent run of form / popularity - just one freakishly successful / ubiquitous album. A one hit wonder, give or take a few other bits and bobs.
  11. Elton John

Not exactly got a spotless track record either.

Bermuda Triangle - it makes people disappear
  14. 2019 Headliners

#WrongBazza could be 2019's #RightBazza. If he's not retired, which I think he's threatening to.

2017's one we coulda won. And you will call her Miss Ross muthafukkaz
  16. Elton John

Headlining the G is nicer full stop to a career than topping it off by playing to a 3/4 full Glebe Park.....which has pretty much been his June routine for the last wee while.
  17. 2018 New Music

    Tintin and the Tantric Marathon
  18. Elton John

Bennie and the Jets seems to have been a low-key influence on a fair few recent jams: Solange, Frank Ocean, A Tribe Called Quest....and there's another one that escapes me..... Edit: Is it RTJ?

A glorious sight. A field full of meerkats as far as the eye can see, all in the sentry position. Muppet crocodiles counting down the moments till they can chime in on backing vocals. Swahili chanting coming through the speakers. A live giraffe wandering through the crowd wearing daft glasses. Then Eavis strides to the front of the stage holding Elton over his head like the baby Simba.
  21. Elton John

You won't be saying fuck off when the giant inflatable People's Princesses rise up on either side of the Pyramid.
  22. Elton John

I sat on the roof and kicked up the moss Well, too much drum'n'bass late at night has got me quite cross
  23. Elton John

Yup. Being (one of) his last ever show(s) definitely increases the prestige of the booking.
  24. Elton John

If I was The Thingy......but then again no
  25. 2019 Headliners
