  1. If anyone is interested, Chaka Khan and Morcheeba are playing in Cascais on the Wednesday before the festival at CoolJazz. Just booked the cheapest standing tickets, less than 30 quid each. The park where CoolJazz is, is lovely. Bars, foodstalls and very close ot Cascais for food/drink before or after. We've an early flight on that day, but an afternoon nap will set us up for the gig. A nice warm up for the festival and a 5 minute walk back to our AirBnB after the show!
  2. Yeah, it's all gone a bit flat hasn't it. Still. the lineup so far is strong and any festival would be happy to have Pearl Jam, Arcade Fire and Dua Lipa. For my taste at least, they have probably the best headline trio this summer. Looks like Avril is busy, she'd be a great addition. Maybe Janelle, Garbage? I'd love to see Gaslight Anthem but I suppose they're out, travel wise.
  3. I might have to have a listen then. I have never heard of them and I was put of by their mask 🙂
  4. Someone else announced but I'm baffled as to who it is. Need a few more big names please.
  5. We pretty much knew they were playing, but good to see it confirmed. There's already lots on the lineup for me, if we can share few from the Mad Cool lineup then I'll be very happy. Avril, Janelle, Keane, The Gaslight Anthem for me please.
  6. Sum 41. Lots of fun to be had when they play. Good stuff.
  7. Portuguese rapper T-REX makes himself effectively un-googleable by having the same name as the enormously famous 70s band T-Rex. I'm sure some people will like him.
  8. Jesse Ware is a great addition. Heineken stage lineup looking varied and interesting.
  9. For me, this is a great booking. I missed them when they played Albert Hall in Manchester and I'm really looking forward to seeing them. They came up on Tidal as a "if you like X then you might like Y" and I did like. Hopefuly they'll not clash with any of the big hitters the festial have booked but not yet revealed to us!
  10. I don't think I have ever heard Benjamin Clementine, one for the play list. The bigger variety of music the better I think.
  11. Pearl Jam forums reporting tour ends in Lisbon on 13th July. Seems unlikely that, if that is true, that there would be a show the size of Pearl Jam anywhere else but at NOS Alive on the same day as NOS Alive.
  12. Tickets purchased, here's to a classic headline set from the mighty Pearl Jam (I hope). Also, if you're sticking around post festival, keep an eye out for Cascais Cool Jazz festival. They have some great acts and it's in a beautiful park. Last year they had Lionel Richie, Noah Jones, Snarky Puppy and Kings of Convenience. In other years they've had The Roots and even Kraftwerk. Easy train ride from Lisbon.
  13. That would be huge. I think it might be a bit ambitious though. That being said, last time PJ played it was quite rock heavy with Arctic Monkeys and Queens of the Stone Age also headlining (Snow Patrol, The National and Jack White subbing).
