    Faithless

Not a hope in hell they would be playing the Glade on Thursday. Hopefully GFL have learnt from the problems in previous years re Thursday overcrowding. It will be totally irresponsible if they to play there on Thursday. Only thought is a Thursday Pyramid first, still will be totally rammed as not a lot else going on and the punters will be well up for it, especially it being Faithless. Noone bigger has played Thursday from memory, if they are indeed playing thursday
  2. One of my favourites was a small venue in the Shangri La lanes where they had a DJ and all he was playing was Commodore 64 games music, it was ace, right up my street
  3. They are also shooting themselves in the foot a bit as well. Most of the media is reporting the NI decrease but then referring to the overall tax burden going up. So all the questions over the next few days will be about the overall tax burden going up, not the drop in NI. They will come across as (even more) disingenuous than they already were!
  4. To be fair, Labour would have done the same. No party would admit to increasing the tax burden on everyone to fund future social care, pensions, public services. It just wouldn't win votes so best to try and hide it, or leave it for the next lot to sort out out. I didn't see any labour politician come out after the Autumn statement and say they would intend to increase the net tax rate if they come into power, they just dodge the question. They are all as bad as each other
  5. Portishead at Glasto 2013 was the simply greatest gig I have even been to. Totally blew my mind, the intensity of the sound and atmosphere, Beth's apparent vulnerability/lack of confidence, the crowds involvement/engagement and the incredible visuals You must check it out on youtube if you havent already. Jaw dropping stuff
  6. Isn't a stealth tax a tax you impose on people without telling them? In which case it is absolutely a stealth tax, as Hunt only mentions tax/NI cuts, but not that the overall burden is increasing, and really it should be increasing People paying more is another thing and people who earn more should absolutely pay more. At some point reality will hit and we will realise we all have to pay a lot more tax to fund social care, public services, pensions, etc, etc but that wont win votes so it will be swept under the carpet until it becomes an even bigger crisis
  7. Just something people who intend to pay using a Santander card, I went to buy something by credit card today and the app needed an update before I could pay which took a while to download and install, so you might want to double check your app is up to date, as you don't want the stress of waiting for the app to update when you reach the payment screen in the morning! I suppose it might be worth checking your banking apps are up to date whoever your provider is, just in case...!

  11. And a new album, its inevitable they will be at Glasto
  12. Crumbs, I forgot she headlined Acoustic that night. What a crazy night that was, Portishead, Arctic Monkeys, Chic and Sinead on at the same time, that is just crazy.... I was at Portishead and is still the greatest set I have seen at the farm so also have no regrets, but would loved to have caught Sinead that year as well if I could. Wasnt go to miss any of Portishead though
  13. Gutted about this, one of the most intense, thought provoking people with the most stunning of voices. Nothing compares to you was one of the greatest songs of the early 90s (was it), stunning vocals but and even more incredible video showing pure raw unfiltered emotion, bloody wow. Many an incredible collaboration as well, John Grant, etc etc... but this one is one of my faves from 'back in the day'
  14. Haven't seen if already mentioned earlier, but Peter Gabriel? A few Genesis songs and bring on Kate Bush, lots of songs there....
