  1. The Killers Headling 2019

So it looks pretty certain that one of the 2019 headliners in 2019 is going to be The Killers, following there "secret" gig at John Peel to an enthusiastic crowd and the sheer amount of crushes around John Peel reported an hour before they even started (putting them in there was a weird decision). With another album due out in September, and no tour dates released yet aside from festivals running until October, it looks as though they could still be about in 2019. Looks like a nailed on headliner for Glasto 2019. Here's the thread to discuss any confirmation or further signs.
  2. Glastonbury 2020

50th anniversary. Do we think they'll do anything special for it? Is there anyone who absolutely must be on the bill. Apparently two of the headliners have already been booked for 2020, who are so massive they can be booked 3 years in advance without any concern about dwinding popularity? Oasis? Elton John? Fleetwood Mac? Queen + Adam Lambert? Bob Dylan? Neil Young? Usher? Arctic Monkeys? Arcade Fire? Madonna? Kylie Minogue? Bon Jovi? ABBA?
  3. BBC's The Biggest Weekend 2018

    This looks brilliant.
  4. The Beauty of the Glastonbury Organisers

Fucking hell, I welled up reading that. Ace of the organisers to go so far out of their way to help someone.
  5. NYC Downlow

But Glasto isn't a fetish club, it's a music festival. Keep this stuff to the seedy underbelly of the world.
  6. Workers Rights at Glasto under Question

Think someone mentioned protests on site in another thread but the press are now picking it up. European workers who'd come over for two weeks work as litter pickers being laid off two days in. Who's in the wrong here? Them for thinking they were guaranteed two weeks work? Glasto for hiring them? A subsidiary company that hired them? http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/hundreds-of-european-workers-fired-two-days-into-glastonbury-clean-up-a7818571.html
  7. NYC Downlow

The darkroom sounds absolutely abhorrent. The kind of unintentionally homophobic homopandering that should be left to the last century, the idea behind it seems to be that a) gay people will fuck anyone, anwhere b ) gay people are incapable of finding a partner and taking them back to wherever there saying. Utterly ludicrous and should be banned, could you imagine if Glasto announced that they were placing booths up the side of the main stage for people to go and shag eachother in? The outrage that would ensue. What's the difference of it being in NYC Downlow.
  8. The Killers Headling 2019

Why do the good bands always go on tour when yer skint.....
  9. The other stage ghost

    Photoshop.
  10. Headliners 2019

What's up, suddenly realised you're wrong?
  11. Headliners 2019

What a load of rubbish, they'd be potential headliners in a few years. The other stage would be a brilliant stepping stone.
  12. Headliners 2019

On what are you basing that dubious assertion on?
  13. Headliners 2019

Does anyone think Passion Pit could headline the other with one more stellar album out. All of Manners, Gossamer and Kindred have been very successful on an international scale and if "Tremendous Sea of Love" follows this pattern they'd be great other stage headliners. The sort of band that makes great music but would never be appropriate for the main stage headline slot.
  14. Headliners 2019

What are people's opinions on Bon Jovi as headliners? Personally think they'd be a class act.
  15. TITP 2018

With the relative flop of TRNSMT, do people think that they might look at running TITP full-on next year; by finding an actual location. It seems that was the intention last time they looked. One interesting snippet that I've found is that they are intending to make it over 18's only if they do run it again; giving the main demographic was 16-24 year old's is that actually viable? Also doesn't just push the issue elsewhere, the kids with day tickets just camping somewhere off-site and ruining family holidays for a load of people who have nothing to do with the event? The other indication is the EDM music will be dialled down, thank fuck for that one; getting to a more pop-rock/pop festival is what's needed. http://www.nme.com/news/music/t-park-will-18s-returns-1996722 http://www.nme.com/blogs/nme-blogs/1998226-1998226 Who'd headline anyway? Something like Arctic Monkeys / Florence and the Machine / Foo Fighters would be good, could equally end up being something like Rag N Bone Man / Calvin Harris / Katy Perry. Though hope to fucking god they don't book Calvin Harris as a headliner again.
  16. Arctic Monkeys 2019

I'm up for this if I get a ticket (or any legit way of being on site). Saw them at T in 2014 and they nailed it, would have been the best night of my life if not for Biffy Clyro two days earlier so would love to see them at an even bigger arena. Hopefully the Friday night.
  17. Arctic Monkeys 2019

Favourite Worst Nightmare AM Whatever People Say I Am That's What I Am Not Suck It and See Humbug
  18. Arctic Monkeys 2019

It's Beneath the Boardwalk. Inb4 some smart ass say it's not an album....
  19. Headliners 2019

Have they actually officially split up? Thought that was just the rumour mill in over drive?
  20. Headliners 2019

Are the Libertines Stone Roses, Queens of the Stone Age and Travis still big enough to headline?
  21. Anyone else think it's fair cop to ban these two muppets from 2019's Glasto, or any music festival anywhere on the planet after their latest "fashion range" being launched which is basically them plastering their face over musical icons tees. http://exclaim.ca/music/article/twitter_is_losing_its_mind_over_what_kendall_and_kylie_jenner_did_to_these_band_t-shirts
  22. Headliners 2019

Fuck it, I'm up for that bet. Assuming we both get tickets I'll collect my winnings at the Stone Circle on the Monday morning.
  23. Liver damage

Yeah, the amazement was at the fact he was functioning. Pretty tragic to be frank, but as you say it what it is.
  24. Kevin Bloody Wilson

With Mark E Smith and yer granny on bongos in the park stage.
  25. Liver damage

Get 'em tickets for Boomtown and Creamfields next year.. that should be a laugh. Bloody hell. I'm amazed he's still functional enough to be a "mate at work".
