Shutting Wednesday would be madness. That means everyone trying to arrive Thursday so would be complete grid lock. These early days help to ease traffic.
Theres a potential but controversial solution. Do early bird tickets for non coach arrivals. This could be done by vastly increasing the car parking ticket if you want to arrive on Wednesday with only limited numbers available bought at time of balance payment.
It would ease the strain to spread the load on Wednesday so not as many people on site initially.
People already taking the green option by using coach or won’t be hit by additional costs so this will encourage more people to be environmentally conscious and also bring in some more income for the festival.
From a H&S pov it’s far better to have a large space getting a big crowd rather than smaller venues trying to cope with the masses looking for entertainment on the warm up days.
Is there any rules that say the headline act must be on late at night?
Maybe they’ve got a special dispensation to have a couple of acts on the Pyramid to draw the crowds in from other packed areas but make sure they turn it off at maybe 9pm to keep the locals happy with their mugs of cocoa and slippers.
Fat Boy is always hanging around the site and I know this gets mentioned a lot but is there always room for a Housemartins secret set? Perhaps an acoustic set on the Band Stand.

Railway track and main route into Pennards from the East of the site will be cut off. Pretty much splitting the site in two. You will have to decide which side of the site you want to be on well before the start of that set.
