    Avalon 2024

The Cat Empire is an amazing add, such a great live band. Can thoroughly recommend. Couple of other good acts as well, plenty I don't know so will check out.
  2. I actually found the food inside the fest rather bad and quite expensive in absolute terms, let alone for hungary. I mean I ate better and cheaper at glasto ffs.
  3. Paid x5. Second time for all of us.
  4. I'm not necessarily disagreeing, but would like to add another (I would say very) notable factor, that is "wouldn't pay £100+ to see their own gig, but I'm well in for an hour of their hits at the fest", including the "it's my guilty pleasure" crowd.
  5. I too can recommend Lebara. I purchased a pre-paid SIM and used in in my second slot as my main SIM is European hence useless in UK. Normal calls and SMS messages won't work if you disable your main SIM, but if enabling your main SIM doesn't cause a bgillion in roaming fees, you can leave both enabled and somewhere in the settings menu tell your phone which one to prioritize or use for what purpose.

    2024 Headliners

I'd argue this largely depends on a number of different factors, including (but not limited to) the size, pull, relevance, experience, live show quality, and amount of good material of both potential artists; when they played last and in what spot,... And then there's the question of "better" for whom? The festival? Giving a lift might be more contemporary or more "Glasto" whatever that means, but might hurt sales and/or public perception. The "new" artist? Headlining Glasto and the exposure that brings can certainly be a nice leg up and accelerate the career. It can also backfire if the artist isn't yet up for the task. Most likely though it ends up in an okayish headline set and realization that headlining a smaller stage or subbing would probably still be the better way to go. My point being - it's not a straight and clear yes (in general, not specifically talking about SZA and Kylie).
  8. OK let's not get bogged down on semantics and what might or might not be the consensus. The fact is Emily's been trying to pass off either the legends slot or Lizzo for that matter as basically headliners before. Specifically because of gender balance. Now in any other circumstance I'd agree with you that saying headliners means actual headliners. Three of them, topping El Pointo. In this specific case however I think what she said might well mean 2 female headliners out of the 3, but could also mean 2 out of the 3 plus legend, or two out of the 4 in a lizzo kind-of-but-not-really co-headline thing.
  9. 1) She was talking about hoping to have "2 female headliners" before, the consensus here was that she was including the legends slot. 2) We know nothing (t least I don't, perhaps you're more in the know). Sure there's rumors, some more credible than others, but none as concrete as to say we *know* there's three female headliners. Hopefully this changes next week tho.
  10. Because Emily's on record hyping up the legends slot as "the fourth headliner", presumably exactly for the gender quota purposes.
  11. I would assume "headliners" means the three 'Mid headliners plus the Legends slot.
  12. Flights to Bristol booked, Nat Express to and form festival booked, AirBNB 2 nights before and 1 night after the festival in Bristol boked. Just waiting for the lineup to drop.
  13. When does the Avalon Inn start serving beer on Wednesday? 😁
