  1. So even if I am abroad meaning they potentially may identify my location as outside the UK by the IP, with my reg info being address in UK, I can use an UK debit card? Not clear for me if they consider "International Tickets" using the info in the registration or detected location.
  2. Adding Lizzo to the top of the poster next to all male headliners makes me think about the Oscars and how they started nominating more movies to Best Picture award to make it more diverse.
  3. are you me? I'm 100% on your wavelength - both on missing the immersive stuff at Shangri-la and not into "people all facing one direction" thing - not just talking about ICCON. It's the reason why although I love the Chems (I know there are a lot of fans here) and when I watch their live sets on youtube I think it's fantastic - but when I am there live I don't feel it so much. Same for other similar DJ/Dance acts.
  4. I'm biased, but there's also this: https://www.glastocast.co.uk/glastocast-series-one/ to complement GlastoEarth and all the great help you will get here.
  5. A friend is selling a ticket for £20, can transfer via AXS

  8. I share the same feelings as @WheresMyTent- this year felt way busier, and I had to adapt and make compromises more than in previous years. I usually choose a couple of acts I want to see and then go with the flow - come Friday, that couple of shows didn't go as planned, neither going with the flow. I had a better weekend after changing my way of doing the festival - this year required planning. I put a lot of weight on my being out of practice, but I also think it's a combination of many factors - most already mentioned here. Of course, the festival is vast and has something for everyone; so many had the time of their lives and very different experiences. However, I don't think that "I've been to the festival this many times, so I know you can go around doing this or that / that there are empty toilets just ahead why are people queueing for this" lessens what is being discussed here but highlight areas where the festival may need to improve to accommodate the growing number of tickets sales, first timers and those who don't live and breathe Glastonbury like us - even going by the official number of ticket sales, not considering if something happened this year. This is probably another topic, but I also feel that the growing capacity affects the naughty corners and early hours areas. For me, they seem to have been losing some of their quirkiness, micro-venues catering to different genres and experiences, immersiveness, theatrics and performers. They are becoming more like stages with broad areas to accommodate more people and increase popularity. I wonder how much is due to forced cancellations, budget cuts and performers who moved on during the pandemic (and other reasons I have no idea about) and how much is by design? Watching videos from Arcadia and walkabouts around Shangri La/South East Corner on YouTube from a few years ago shows what I missed this year.
  9. well, here's macca in 1080p - let's just say I uhn found on twitter: https://transfer.sh/QXT9hW/paul_1080p
  10. "Felt the festival really lacked any kind of interactive / performance art stuff that it usually had this year, I presume due to money, but didn't find a single microvenue in Shangri-la either. Did anybody else?" Yup - this summarizes my feelings quite well - missed finding microvenues, little doors with something unexpected behind it, more performers and theatrics in some areas. Also this film from Arcadia 2011 takes me back: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5w1taLehRjo
  11. I don't think you add ="option" (equal sign and quotation marks) - at least on linux you dont. --tv-quality <quality>,<quality>,... : TV recording quality preference (overrides --quality): fhd,hd,sd,web, mobile, default (Aliases: 1080p,720p,540p,396p,288p). Comma-delimited list in descending order of preference. Default: hd,sd,web, mobile so you should do for max quality: --tv-quality 1080p or --tv-quality fhd all options are here https://github.com/get-iplayer/get_iplayer/wiki/manpage
  12. --output, -o <dir> : Recording output directory https://github.com/get-iplayer/get_iplayer/wiki/manpage#output-options
  13. oh yeah, didn't list this one - also missed. Overall feeling is that adjacent areas are becoming more stages - still with their own character design and looking great, mind you - but less immersive/quirky/interesting things in between. See also the Glade becoming two stages. I have memories of finding little doors in Shangri La and getting myself into some wild and unexpected scenarios - and didn't it used to have performers/artists/bigger narrative going around? I wonder if it was budget constraints or this will be the way forward.
  14. Block 9: missed the London Underground. The Common: was Samula smaller or less screens/water visuals? Also I miss The Cave. Was Gas Tower less of a 360 experience and more like another stage? I wish Arcadia had Metamorphosis/Lords of Lightning.

yes, we already recorded a chat with beans! It will come out in the coming weeks and it may be our last before the festival 😕 I assure you we wanted to do more. Thank you all for the suggestions - and please keep them coming! Some of them we did already back in 2019/20 but stayed in the backlog due to the cancellation and our own hiatus - for example, we did record one with two food traders and also someone suggested here to record a sound bite with someone going for the first time and then another one when they're back, which we also did back then! We may end up using these or redoing it if the previous recordings are not fitting any more as they are both good ideas.
